Banning people risks bordering on dodgy - where do you draw the lines?!

The personal attacks on that thread where made by non-doghouse regulars, in the main, looking for a pile-on. The comment about personal hygiene from Apocalypse etc slid the thread from straight-talking to abusive.

If that sentence from DBF about being foolish and a disgrace etc had been aimed at a newbie honestly seeking help, Justine, then it would be unacceptable. But it wasn't. It was fair comment directed at a poster who has been here for years, and has been economical with the truth for that entire period. And her selfishness on this occasion will probably end with a dog being put to sleep, because she ignored excellent doghouse advice in the first place.

Please please reconsider the ban on DBF- I feel awful about it, and coupled with the reluctance to ban MRA trolls who do far more damage, I dont know if I want to continue to post in this topsy-turvey situation

Add my name to the petition, her advice has helped me, and someone does need to show the world that side of dog ownership that says they are not accessories to be discarded at will! There are so many unwanted dogs in the world, we really need someone who will tell people they are being idiots for backyard breeding or taking on dogs with no idea what they are doing. If those sort of people don't get a warm reception, perhaps they should think about WHY rather than bitching about unfriendliness.

I think it would be a disgrace to ban her. She talks a lot of sense and she has helped many people. I find it ironic when I see some of the other crap that is allowed to stand when her forthright opinions mean she gets banned.

She always took time to respond to people's pleas for help and spent considerable time sending me a personal message when I asked for help, she might be to the point at times but she always comes from the point of view of caring.

Another example of why MNHQ get it wrong again.

I reckon DBF should be allowed back (and others just as 'assertive' allowed to stay) but that other doghouse posters should (a)

I dont really know DBF one way or another, i have seen mention of the tone of the doghouse being quiteextreme and unsupportive and from the little i have read on ther DBF does stand out as being top dog [wunk] of the topic.

I have respect for mnhq's decisions, i dont tend to think they go overboard...even when i got banned! I bloody deserved it.

I just feel i want to be clear that my reporting of the thread was not prompted by DBF's posts.

Like Hullys idea of a monitor, so why not get Vall to be it? Liase with her what you want from the doghouse and see if she'd be willing to take the role?

Ask her to use her knowledge to moderate the bunfights rather than cause them?
