Because if she has been I would like to know why.

OP posts:

justine - Times Literary Supplement? Shurely shome mishtake?

msfishneedsabycycle · 07/11/2011 21:04

I don't post often, but I do support the wish to bring back DBF as she is all dogs best friend. I admire her passion and will sign any petition going...and it is a mistake to ban people for being passionate and caring....even if it comes across as a bit harsh...

DoingTheBestICan · 07/11/2011 21:04

I have had discussions with DBF in the past & she got quite shouty,if i was a newbie i would have felt a bit intimidated by her.
If she has had numerous warnings about her posting style & refused to change then surely she has noone to blame but herself for this banning?

Yes she is very passionate about dogs but there are ways of getting your message across, just because someone is popular does not give them free rein to be as rude as they want to be.

Has anyone actually asked DBF if she wants to come back anyway?

Justine, I can see it was a personal attack. But I can also see that calling a group of posters names is a personal attack ... and I've been told over and over by HQ that it is not.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 07/11/2011 21:05

Justine: - Ok I've checked with the team and whilst there's some drama queenyness in there, there is nothing inconsistent.

I am speachless.

D'you know I'd forgotten the V a u n d a persona Shock

blimmin eck at this

SecretNutellaFix · 07/11/2011 21:05

I'm going around in circles here.

SINCE WHEN DID TELLING THE TRUTH CONSTITUTE A PERSONAL ATTACK?

JustineMumsnet · 07/11/2011 21:05

@JustineMumsnet

[quote WinterIsComing] Catherine? That's interesting.

Why was that HQ?

I shall find out and report back forthwith.

Ah, have been alerted that a couple of trolls have come out to join in the bunfight. People maybe we should all take Wine we are attracting a bad crowd Wink.

Pinot · 07/11/2011 21:05

FWIW, I'm chatting to DBF on FB as this is happening and she is fine. Shocked at HQ but fine.

Not like the rest of us frothers!

Hullygully · 07/11/2011 21:05

I agree Justine

But weighing up one person's general usefulness against their occasional over forthrightness, perhaps deletion might be more appropriate? Get one of them unpaid interns to be a permanent doghouse monitor.

reelingintheyears · 07/11/2011 21:05

Which Witch ?

GrimmaTheNome · 07/11/2011 21:05

I actually think if folks can't see that her post was a personal attack then something's a bit amiss.

From what I've gleaned, perhaps it would be more accurate to say it was a counter attack ?

JeremyVile · 07/11/2011 21:06

Loopy if your opinion of mnhq is so utterly low, why on earth would you continue posting here?

yes val wants to come back. and i've told her we'll have her back by suppertime so come on MNHQ. you have the support you asked for WRT lifting the ban.

Elibean · 07/11/2011 21:07

WinterisComing horrible generalisation.

I am an animal lover. I am definitely pro-human beings.

And as a pro-human person, I think healthy communities flourish best without bans and exclusions.

Pudding2be · 07/11/2011 21:07

Mumsnet YABU.

The op deliberately lied, therefore you should take that into consideration.

If you do not lift this ban I feel I have no choice but to leave, and I will be asking others to join me in protest

JustineMumsnet · 07/11/2011 21:07

@Hullygully

I agree Justine

Maybe the first few times, but after warnings and a ban?
Think the monitor is a nice idea though - someone to quote the philosophy like in ye olden days. Any volunteers?

Justine - please could she come back?

There is a lot of support for her and she has helped a lot of people.

Even my cats want her back......

GuidoFawkestooearlymustdache · 07/11/2011 21:08

ooohhh, fancy extra double quote colours there, Justine!

who mentioned Wine

WinterIsComing · 07/11/2011 21:08

I am NOT a troll, HQ.

Check your I.P numbers.

LindsayWagner · 07/11/2011 21:08

Elsewhere on here, when speaking about children, we often say 'your child your choice'. If things get a little heavier, we say 'you're doing your best, we've all been there. Have you tried [...] ?' After that we say 'Oh love, sounds like you're having a shit time. Here's how you can get help'.

If we don't tell women struggling with caring for children that they're pieces of crap, we shouldn't do so with women struggling to care for dogs. Which IMO is the doghouse MO.
