There was a thread a few weeks back about how horrid the doghouse was and lots of posters said they were too scared to post there because of how they were belittled and shouted at for asking questions.

DBF was certainly forthright and I guess this was the last straw - sort of 3 strikes and you're out.

But would have been more sensible not to have been on the tles thread which honestly was a pile of old dog poo.

GetOrf · 07/11/2011 20:39

Christ we can't give any info about TLES because quite often she gets her own threads deleted because people cal her on her lies.

Amazingbouncingferret - a thread a few months/weeks ago she said she could not cope with dog weeing everywhere and starting to become aggressive.

Thread started yesterday (or day before) she said that she lived in a v dangerous part of town and although it 'breaks her heart' she is worried about it getting dognapped etc so is getting rid, basically in a nutshell.

batsintheroof · 07/11/2011 20:39

I love DBF and also many of the other Doghouse posters. However, I think a lot of people who just simply don't know better (and post innocently) get jumped on and this alienates a lot of posters. In this sense the doghouse is not always helpful- im not talking about the pulled thread but in general- I do wish there were less capitals, fewer words written in bold etc etc in the thread. I can see how it makes people defensive.

Rhinestone · 07/11/2011 20:39

OK, so you're happy to consider lifting the ban. I think enough of us want you to.....

ItsonlymeMrsDB · 07/11/2011 20:40

Please let DBF back.

I want to know if she got her Wag Bag.

SacreLao · 07/11/2011 20:40

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look into TLES's other posts.

She deliberately posts subjects that she knows will inflame people and then provokes it more and more.

She has lied in so many threads and is always contradicting herself, I for one am bloody glad someone called her on.

I dread to think of the posts that will pop up in doghouse without the sensible passionate people defending the poor animals in all this.

Are mumsnet going to end up a forum supporting animal cruelty and dodgy breeding practices? Because that's what banning the people who put these idiots straight will result in.

PersonalClown · 07/11/2011 20:40

IMHO I think the rest of us in the Doghouse are more than enough to counteract DBF's passion and forthright attitude.
Sometimes people need a good shouting at to make them see past their own issues. Life is not all sweetness and light. Everyone needs a boot up the arse sometimes.

PorkChopSter · 07/11/2011 20:41

Please can you start banning people for being twats?

mnhq - this is unfair. i am a regular in the doghouse and to say it is a scary place is untrue. i find other areas of mn much more scary. i like mn for its straightforward approach.

i did wonder whether to leave over some of the disablist comments ive read on here. these have shocked me (and i have spent 20yrs working in this field and am not easily shocked) and when a few of us reported them we were all told that mnhq doesnt want to stifle debate so would leave the deregatory comments re people with disabilities stand.

however, what i cant stand is hypocrisy and i think you are guilty of this.

on another note, did you notice only last week dbf facilitated rehoming a dog which a mn'er was unable to keep? during the last year or so dbf has helped rehome a few dogs belong to mn'ers. thats making parents lives easier isnt it?

i dont know if you have a passion in your life. i do - children and young people in care, and equal opps - and when you feel so passionately about something it is possible and in fact likely that language used surrounding that topic can be blunt. maybe too blunt for some people but that is a price worth paying to have people in this world who are campaigners. imagine a society without campaigners? is that what you want?

shame on you for how you have reacted to this

JustineMumsnet · 07/11/2011 20:41

@BeerTricksPotter

There are posters who pop up constantly just to annoy and upset. They've done it for the 2 years I've been here and will continue to do so.

It's a pathetic excuse to ban someone. I don't think MNHQ like 'personalities'. Especially if they actually do some good offboard.

Report them! We will always look into it.

You're right, we do have a view that all posters are equal and don't agree with posters who lay down the law on particular boards. That's because
a) We believe in folks' right to contrary opinions
b) We'd like to think MN was a tolerant and helpful place

We have absolutely nothing against people doing good things, on or off board. That would be peculiar.

Honeydragon · 07/11/2011 20:41

I'm not sure if DBF can moderate her posting style - currently it's very anti the spirit of the site.

Justine that's not true, no one notices her non animal posts. When my Mum had cancer last year she was wonderfu, I had a couple of sensible, supportive and well thought out comments that really helped me Sad

She is also just as funny and witty as everyone else. People go to her as they know she is dedicated to this cause and can help. Yes she loses it sometimes but she has NEVER refused to help anyone on here.

I beg you to reconsider, some vile posters are allowed to post here as it goes with the freedom of the internet, please let her return.

As for the TLES, read her threads and investigate deeper....

TarquinGyrfalcon · 07/11/2011 20:41

I think DBF is an abslute hero. She is forthright, but so are a lot of other posters on here - it's waht makes Mumsnet what it is.

TLESs threads never fail to apall me - they usually implode or she has them pulled when people have taken time to offer her constructive advise.

ItsonlymeMrsDB · 07/11/2011 20:42

simpson

But the dog was going to live in Hertfordshire !

IF the dog was got rid of. In the end she wasn't sure if she had said what she said, right at the start of the thread.

Its such a pity that people dont get banned for repeated drama queen behaviour. If that happened we wouldnt be having this discussion at all.

welliesandpyjamas · 07/11/2011 20:42

Loopy, that made you sound so nice.

HeresTheThingBooyhoo · 07/11/2011 20:42

I SUPPORT LIFTING THE BAN ON DBF

fair enough if she has had warnings for personal attacks, but this wasn't a personal attack. at least play by your own rules MNHQ. she didn't earn a ban for thsi and you know it. otherwise you wouldn't be suggesting lifting the ban if you get enough support for it from MNers.

But it makes me furious she's been banned after we spent weeks begging MNHQ to do something, anything, about edd and the other posters who were just trying to hurt vulnerable women. Apparently that was just far too difficult for any action to be taken ... seeing as those posters only posted disgusting rape jokes, and we wwere just told to keep reporting them, keep seeing them deleted - but no hope of a ban.

Great post LRD.

SGM I have 4 cats as well - we are like the mad cat people of the street Grin

Ok fair enough - I meant her posts in the Doghouse tbh. Am very glad she was helpful to you when your Mum was ill.
We will investigate TLES for sure.

I can imagine, Stewie.

Twat will have to suffice !
