To not be ashamed...

That I'm an escort girl/call girl/high class prositute (whatever you want to call it) ...

I love my job, I'm very good at it, I pay taxes, it's not illegal and I help a lot of people. So why should I spend my life apologising for it/lying about it/defending myself??

  • Yes have name changed in case I get flamed... which in itself is depressing!

If it makes you happy enjoy it. It's not for everyone, of course.

DontHassleTheBOF · 22/05/2011 14:34

I don't give the the tiniest shit

frantic51 · 22/05/2011 14:34

YANBU Your body, you decide what you want to do with it. End of!

Pagwatch · 22/05/2011 14:35

But surely if you were not ashamed you would not feel the need to name change.

I don't care. I really don't
But perhaps you should be honest if you are professing to be open, honest and unashamed?
Can't quite square that circle

CravingExcitement · 22/05/2011 14:36

I used to feel a bit the same when I worked in a call centre, but I wouldn't have started thread about it.

FabbyChic · 22/05/2011 14:36

prostitution is not legal.

the majority of your earnings are cash do you declare them all?

loopylou6 · 22/05/2011 14:36

Good for you. If you where my friend I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I do hope you have your thick skin on tho, coz you will have key board rambos on your case now bleating about giving women a bad name :)

BooBooGlass · 22/05/2011 14:37

Wot BOF said. Bully for you love

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 14:37

Oh, a high class prostitute...thb I have a problem with that terminology, and indeed have a problem with women who sell their bodies for sex.

However, you're probably a journo scraping the barrel for next weeks MN article, so I'll sit back and watch all the apologists say "they don't mind what you do". Might I suggest you post this in the feminist section if it's a reaction you're after?

ashamedandconfused · 22/05/2011 14:37

if you were not ashamed, you would not care about the namechange. Surely you would just not start a thread like this brinigng attention to what you do.

or was that the point? or perhaps this is a journo doing some sort of research. Or someone looking to start a fight.

squeakytoy · 22/05/2011 14:37

Have you met Wayne Rooney yet?

What are your views on superinjuctions?

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 14:41

LoopyLou, where are you geographically?

CravingExcitement · 22/05/2011 14:41

Shit I should have name-changed

Deflatedballoonbelly · 22/05/2011 14:41

I dont understand all the different terms, Your a sex worker.
Bothered.

DoMeDon · 22/05/2011 14:42

0/10 - been done many times before and better

Vallhala · 22/05/2011 14:44

I'm happy to be an "apologist" and say with hand on heart that it's entirely down to you what you do with your body, regardless if you are, as another poster suspects, a newspaper hack or not.

Assuming you're not, please can you answer one question - why namechange? You say that you're not ashamed of it, so it can't be for that reason.

frantic51 · 22/05/2011 14:47

I would think she has namechanged because of the "keyboard rambos"! Nice one LoopyLou! Grin

coccyx · 22/05/2011 14:49

highclass prostitute as opposed to a low class one???? do the same thing surely

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 14:53

Hmmm yes. They sell sex.

I think it's about self justification that they name themselves other things than sex workers.

frantic51 · 22/05/2011 14:53

It just means she doesn't hang about on street corners to pick up "passing trade" Hmm

Deesus · 22/05/2011 14:54

Totally up to you. Tis the oldest profession as they say....

And I thought prostitution was legal in the uk....it's solicitation that's illegal...

onagar · 22/05/2011 14:54

While of course it could be a journalist it's also true that you'd have to name-change even if you didn't feel ashamed. You have to think ahead about how you'll be treated by those who will hate you for it.
