Stuff the Royal Wedding more important to remember is the 96 innocent people that died at Anfield after the disaster struck spare a thought for those and their families instead of the stuck up twats and there stupid pathetic wedding

Hillsborough. but here here.

susansocks · 15/04/2011 18:11

YusMilady · 15/04/2011 18:12

False opposition. YABUnusual.

susansocks · 15/04/2011 18:12

no, got it wrong
15th april.
this day

Bottleofbeer · 15/04/2011 18:12

No, it was April 15th. YNWA 96 x

charleneanne · 15/04/2011 18:13

it was april 15th that the 96 died

OP posts:
YusMilady · 15/04/2011 18:13

It was 15 April 1989, so the anniversary is today. I'm not sure what it's got to do with the Royal Wedding, frankly.

ditavonteesed · 15/04/2011 18:13

definatly wasnt may 14th as I would remember that date as it is my birthday.

scaredoflove · 15/04/2011 18:14

Absolutely remember those that died that day, everyone should remember

But, surely people are still allowed to have nice times since, regardless of their class status - or can posh people never have nice times because tragedy struck elsewhere at another time?

susansocks · 15/04/2011 18:14

right numbers, wrong order

charleneanne · 15/04/2011 18:14

everyone talking about shit and no one remembering something important

OP posts:
shmoz · 15/04/2011 18:14

Hmm, agree that respect and remembrance is due to those poor souls and their family/friends....but don't see how that makes any less of the wedding of the future king.

diabolo · 15/04/2011 18:14

I'm in no way being disrespectful, but what has this got to do with the Royal Wedding?

fivegomadinthelambingshed · 15/04/2011 18:14

NOt sure what one has got to do with the other?

susansocks · 15/04/2011 18:14

it was this date.
it is ignored, mostly.

ShirleyKnot · 15/04/2011 18:15

Nothing to do with the royal wedding though really.

headfairy · 15/04/2011 18:15

By your logic op we should cancel the Olympics because 2012 is the 100th anniversary of the Titanic disaster.

SomethingSuper · 15/04/2011 18:15

I think that this thread could go horribly wrong, which we would be awful.

headfairy · 15/04/2011 18:16

it's top story on the Liverpool echo

MunchkinsMumof2 · 15/04/2011 18:16

I think the two events are irrelevant and you obviously have a chip on shoulder about the Royal Family. You can respect and mourn the football fans and respect a couple who are about to get married so yes YABU and a bit odd.

Bottleofbeer · 15/04/2011 18:18

It's not ignored in Liverpool. I strongly suggest if you ever come across it that you watch Jimmy McGovern's Hillsborough, sadly, to this day the lies that were told at the time are still believed :(

charleneanne · 15/04/2011 18:18

i hate the royals so why would i respect them they do nothing and expect everyone to be over the moon because he is getting married

OP posts:
susansocks · 15/04/2011 18:19

its not necessairly the royals, its the media and the money making people.

heliumballoons · 15/04/2011 18:19

YANBU to spare a thought for the families of those who died in Hillsborough, and those who have lived and remember.

YABU to think the Royals shouldn't get married because of it.

I think if the wedding is mentioned in the news it would be fair enough to mention Hillsborough too. But on the other hand you can't begrudge some 'good news' Hmm for the country because we have had bad.

headfairy · 15/04/2011 18:19

that's a totally different conversation charleneanne... by all means slag off the royals but I'm not sure about the Hillsborough connection
