To think BIL and SIL have taken PFB to a whole new level?

we are all staying at PILs for Easter for a long weekend. They have a 4 bed house, we will be in DHs old room with DS in a travel cot. We assumed our 3 DDs would be in the spare room as usual with B & SIL and their 4mo DD in their room.

Nope.

Apparently DN can't possibly share a room with her parents as it will disrupt her routine and she also snuffles at night. So, the 3 DDs will be sleeping in the dining room (wooden floor) whilst DN has the spare room (the one with a set of bunkbeds and a single bed). PIL are flummoxed as to how to change back to normal as BIL and SIL both seem tO be struggling a bit with the new baby.

So do they win a special prize? :o

How does that make sense? Surely their PFB will be in a cot so can go in any room? Confused

tbh I think your mil should just put her foot down and say that dn needs to sleep in with bil/sil.

I can´t see anything wrong with wanting their baby in another room-the problem seems to be that ILs have agreed to it!

Wouldn´t go along with having my children on the floor when there are enough beds available tbh.

YANBU The fact that your DN will be sleeping in a different house will be disrupting her routine so I don't see why she needs a different room to her parents.

How about DN goes in the dining room in her cot and your DC's can go in their usual room?

That way, everyone won't be daring to breathe moving about on the same floor as your DN thereby risking disturbing her sleep and routine.

Perhaps they just need a bit of gentle reassurance? It's easy to get lost and a little bit precious when you're swamped with information flying at you from every angle. Instead of taking the piss on here, why don't you gently try and say that they need to relax? Grin You never know, they may be really grateful for the advice (just a suggestion).

What does DH make of this? Is he onside with you? Any virtue in you also being "difficult" and saying you are not prepared for your 3 to sleep on the floor so therefore you are not going?

Put the baby in your room in her cot. If you've got three already, you are presumably bombproof when it comes to snuffling in the night.

I think you need to say unfortunately you won't be able go unless your DDs are able to sleep in proper beds. That will probably focus your PILs minds on stamping out this ridiculousness.

Give B and SIL a tent and let DN have their room.
Yes, they do win a shiny medal, but save the memory and remind them in a few years.

Ah if only it were that simple! SIL burst into years when MIL gently suggested that perhaps DN could sleep with them as it's only for the weekend. "but she will keep us awake all night with her snuffling and shes such a terrible sleeper" from what I've been told by SIL and MIL the little angel is sleeping 11-5 at 4mo every night Shock I would have cheerfully killed someone for a baby that slept that 'badly' :)

I wouldn't want t put a 4 month old baby in with older cousins...and that doesn't solve the BIL and SILS concerns anyway....they're woried about ther PFB being with anyone else...not just them. OR one of them wont sleep with the baby as it disturbs them and the routine line is BS!

Put your foot down OP...suggest the dining room and get MIL to gorw a pair!

x posts Humphrey....I KNEW it! It's about SIL and BILS getting some sleep! Not abouut the baby at all! If that is the case then they cannot argue abot baby in dining room.
