1000 replies

Teaandcakeplease · 11/01/2011 20:15

Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo, AF, HE, Cheesey and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

elmofan · 11/01/2011 21:03

outnumbered2to1 · 11/01/2011 21:07

its the thread to lick your wounds or hide out if you were a bit gobby to someone else and then realised you hadn't read the OP post properly.

(Outnumbered polishes her seat on the naughty bench for having a go at loopyloop earlier this week....)

Ginger nuts anyone?

Teaandcakeplease · 11/01/2011 22:37

Hello Elmo, been super busy today but will catch up better tomorrow on here Smile

gomummygo · 11/01/2011 22:56

Well done Tea. :)

Elmo that is :) news about DS, and a different class may make all the difference. I went to karate as a child and also didn't enjoy it. It wasn't until I started over again as a young adult that I realized what a difference the teaching styles of the sensei(s) make. Having been at a few now, there is such a difference in clubs, and some are so much better with children than others. Imo, anyway! :)

Salvador - it's just a nice friendly place to relax. And eat virtual goodies. Grin

Outnumbered - what's a ginger nut? Sounds like something I'd like.

outnumbered2to1 · 11/01/2011 23:30

its like a ginger snap biscuit only harder... lol

CheerfulYank · 12/01/2011 15:04

Mmm gingernut!

It's an International Support System, salvador. Isn't that just like a man! :o

CheerfulYank · 12/01/2011 15:05

Hello 4mad will go and look now - thanks x

CheerfulYank · 12/01/2011 15:57

I am really proud of your DS, Elmo. I think boxing would be good; I did it when I was younger and had a massive confidence boost. The whole bullying thing just makes me so incredibly angry. On the Glee episode I was watching last night (it all comes down to Glee eventually Blush) one of the characters is just tormented, and it's so sad. It makes me so angry that kids have to be so brave just to go to school every day. I wasn't bullied much when I was young, but there was a stint in ninth grade, I think it was, and it was just awful. I can still remember how humiliated and upset I was every day. Woe betide the person who makes my DS feel that way, is all I can tell you.

Anyway, about the Bench...we're just all friends here, aren't we? It's the best. I can't tell you how many things have happened and I think "well I'll be telling the Bench about this" and just the thought cheers me up enormously. :)

Welcome, 4madboys! Do you really have 4 DSs? I'm jealous!

valiumredhead · 12/01/2011 16:11

Cheerfulyank - not only 4 mad boys but a new mad girl as well! Grin I'm jealous too!

Teaandcakeplease · 12/01/2011 21:48

Missed all the chat on here today whilst ferrying DD about to nursery today. Tonight I was fiddling about putting photos in albums. Even in this digital age I still like doing that.

Afternoon :)

Very quiet here today....................

gomummygo · 13/01/2011 13:30

Morning all! :)

Tea I guess I am another old fart as well. Grin I would be so Blush to tell you how many volumes I have chronicling DS' almost three years on this earth! There is still something about a printed photo that I really like. Balanced with the benefit that you can now take 30 shots of something to get that perfect photo to print. Anyone remember when you had to develop a whole roll of film just to get two that turned out? Or was that just me?

4madboys you have 5?

gomummygo · 13/01/2011 17:29

Seeing this made my day

Hope that worked. :)

Teaandcakeplease · 13/01/2011 18:56

Oh yes many years I took photos with rolls of films before entering the digital age at about age 21 when I bought my own digital camera, which I still use but is old technology now. I was terrible at taking photos back then.

I'll watch that video in a moment GoMummy. Did you see my fb status today? The shame Blush

Teaandcakeplease · 13/01/2011 19:02

Ahh that's a sweet video. Great voice I reckon it would've been perfect if she hadn't been terrified, as it cracked slightly a couple of times, no doubt in terror. She did well, lovely the crowd joined in.

gomummygo · 13/01/2011 19:49

Didn't see the status Tea, and the last one I see now is Tuesday. What did I miss? Been a busy morning doing prep work here with DS "helping" as we are having dinner guests tonight. Have had to alter one of my recipes as I had exactly enough big mushrooms to stuff for the quantities and after turning my back for one minute....six of them have DS-sized bites out of them. Couldn't just eat a whole one, had to have a bite out of SIX of my sixteen! Hmm

Shall I now confess that I went ahead and stuffed the bitten ones and have just eaten them as my healthy low fat lunch? Blush

elmofan · 13/01/2011 20:13

Good Evening All Smile

Hows everyone doing today ?

Aww that video is lovely gomummy & Grin at ds taking bites out of the mushrooms .
