to be curious to know how many of us are middle class mothers who wear Boden?

I always enjoy the wide cross section of opinions, attitudes and experiences on Mumsnet. But other media seems keen to present Mumsnet as white middle class Boden adorned mothers.

I know I'm not, but how many of us are? Grin

Sorry if this has been asked before, but couldn't find anything in the older threads.

Nope -not me.

Jojay · 01/01/2011 21:39

Not guilty! Not a single Boden item has ever entered my wardrobe.

Honeydragon · 01/01/2011 21:39

Ok, so so far we have been unfairly stereotyped on a ratio of 3:2 Smile

I'm middle class but I don't wear Boden. (I have bought a few bits for the dc in the sale though.)

I never even knew what Boden was till I joined MN; nobody I know in RL ever mentions it.

southeastastra · 01/01/2011 21:40

this is like a zombie thread - you're all hiding out in a cupboard wearing boden

TrillianAstra · 01/01/2011 21:40

Middle class - yes (but grew up working class)
Mother - nope
Boden - nope

BluTac · 01/01/2011 21:40

I'm neither Smile

BuzzLightBeer · 01/01/2011 21:40

I'm neither. I'd never heard of boden till I came here, doesn't trade in my country.

BelleDameSansMerci · 01/01/2011 21:40

I'm not sure if I am middle class but I would certainly appear to be middle class to the casual observer...

The "problem" with Boden is that it's so easy to wear; it fits; and it seems to last quite well. I hate myself for buying it but I can't find much else I like.

1234ThumbScrew · 01/01/2011 21:41

Well I am middle class and I do have some Boden items, but I'd say that I'm not as frumpy as that. Of course I actually thi k I'm quite cool, but I have a dd that makes it quite clear that I'm far from it.

Checkmate · 01/01/2011 21:42

Middle class, yep. Mother, yep. Wear Boden, no. I do buy some if their stuff for my DC, but never for myself (not the right shapes for my figure, plus all too samey).

strawberrycake · 01/01/2011 21:43

I like to say I'm middle class! I only found out what Boden was recently.

littleducks · 01/01/2011 21:43

I'm too young Wink and too poor Sad for boden, but i do buy the kids coats from there

Miffles · 01/01/2011 21:43

Middle class: Yes
White: Yes
Boden-wearer: No (Dorothy Perkins mostly, it seems)
Mother: working on it Wink

pissedrightoff · 01/01/2011 21:43

I too amnot sure if I am middle class or not BUT if I am I DO NOT wear Boden.

The North Face
Great Plains
Berghaus
Whistles
Nicole Fahri
Jigsaw
Hagloff
Karen Millen

BUT NOT BODEN.

Honeydragon · 01/01/2011 21:44

This isn't a anti Boden thread or a out yourself in shame at Boden wearing thread Belle Grin

Between a friend in RL who uses Nethuns comments about Mumsnet and a few older posts on here, I began to ponder whether we are being sorely misrepresented by the media.

BODEN Shock

BelligerentGhoul · 01/01/2011 21:45

Middle class - nope, although I'm a teacher so I suppose I'm semi-mc now.

Boden - I had two skirts - they were stolen (at different times) off my washing line and now I don't have any. I do think it's got worse and worse over the years, anyway.

Mother - yep.

Magna · 01/01/2011 21:46

Not me Grin
