to be curious to know how many of us are middle class mothers who wear Boden?

I always enjoy the wide cross section of opinions, attitudes and experiences on Mumsnet. But other media seems keen to present Mumsnet as white middle class Boden adorned mothers.

I know I'm not, but how many of us are? Grin

Sorry if this has been asked before, but couldn't find anything in the older threads.

Not middle class, working class, homeowner. Once bought a coat from Boden but sent it back. Oh and bought a Boden skirt from a charity shop but gave it away (looked frumpy)

Am a mother.

cupcakebakerer · 01/01/2011 23:29

I've never classed myself as middle class but have now consulted Wikipedia and it seems I am. Don't wear Boden but I am intrigued and have visited the website - so quite possibly could do in the future. Also white. Mum to be.

cupcakebakerer · 01/01/2011 23:30

So basically stereotypical Mumsnetter in training..

ragged · 01/01/2011 23:37

Mother: Yes.
Private Ed.: One DC yes, two DC no.
White: Yes, but Not British.
Boden: No. Boden is boring & overpriced, often ugly. Charity shops, instead :).
Class: I am foreign, doesn't that guarantee NO "class" whatsoever?? Wink

DilysPrice · 01/01/2011 23:38

White, staggeringly middle class, mother, but wouldn't dream of buying clothes from a catalogue (mostly because I have an old fashioned fondness for clothes which I know to fit me).

HalfTermHero · 01/01/2011 23:39

Middle Class - yes
White -yes
Children - yes
Boden Wearing - I have a fair bit of Boden in addition to many more clothes from other places.

FunnyLittleFrog · 01/01/2011 23:41

Middle-middle class according to Wiki. DD has a second hand Boden cardigan but that's it.

BootyMum · 01/01/2011 23:41

Lulabel how did you get to become a fit model for Boden. Does that mean you get free clothes... I am interested... Blush again.

DS and I both wear Boden.

I really like some of their stuff, but I do wear other things. Is there something wrong with it?

Himalaya · 01/01/2011 23:45

Mixed race
middle class
mother
no Boden

2 out of 4.
Is someone making some pie charts?

Himalaya · 01/01/2011 23:46

Or quiche charts??

onmyfeet · 01/01/2011 23:47

Never heard of Boden other than on this forum.

JoBettany · 01/01/2011 23:49

They do some lovely stuff for the DC's.

Bookswapper · 01/01/2011 23:49

no idea if I am middleclass...
boden handbags only...not the clothes but buy it for the children in the sales and hand it down, but also imogens wardrobe charity shops and friend's hand me downs

Honeydragon · 01/01/2011 23:52

Himalaya - I was going to try for a pie chart (or possibly quiche chart) but its ending up spaghetti I'm afraid.

There is nothing wrong with Boden, but it does seem to belong to a (according to this thread anyway Grin) non existent demographic.

Catalogues are all the same as far as I'm concerned, involves making a guess at what might fit and flatter you, and then faffing around with returns. One of the greatest advantages of living in a proper city with actual shops is not being reliant on what Boden want me to wear.

A toast delivery service sounds slightly more tempting - but surely the butter would congeal in transit?

ShoshanaBlue · 02/01/2011 00:03

Class: Underclass/chav/scum....

Boden: Yes, we have quite a bit as DD loves it. I have some too.
For those of you who have never heard of Boden, don't you read those ads you get with your Ocado deliveries?!?

Definitely a mother - sorry but I don't understand what people without children are doing on mumsnet?

onmyfeet · 02/01/2011 00:10

I don't live in UK, and I guess we do not have Boden in Canada? I didn't even know it was a catalogue.

lololizzy · 02/01/2011 00:12

no thank you very much

rodformyownback · 02/01/2011 00:17

Shosh, I can't believe you're a chav, surely Ocado wouldn't deliver? Wink

Me - middle class but poor, white, mum, no Boden (although may buy some if it showed up at NCT nearly new sale)

PrincessBoo · 02/01/2011 00:23

Shoshana People who are trying to conceive?

lololizzy · 02/01/2011 00:29

or people who can't conceive but are or going to be step parents? Or people with children significantly in their lives? or women missing company /chat of other women?

ShoshanaBlue · 02/01/2011 00:30

Ah, yes - mums to be.

Ocado come here with no problems at all, but if the council need to come for anything then I have to answer questions about the safety of my neighbourhood!
