Longest - trampoline party..makes me shudder!!!!! And as for the girl on crutches going..wtf!! Your dd sounds so sweet to include her tho..bet dd would’ve preferred to be jumping!!

Well..had a party at ours last night. Everyone got smashed. Was hilarious. Lots of dancing and drinking. I did loads of salads and made a few pizzas. All went down well. They left at 2am!! I actually moderated really well. I had two glasses of fizz and a glass of flat white. Not bad over about 6-7 hours!! Looking at the empty bottles today tho, I’m not sure the others moderated well!! Was fun!!

Hello everyone, I’ve been AWOL as I’ve been drinking like a bastard and ashamed to post. Life’s been tough but is getting better.

Today is day1 AF for the first time in ages - only 4 AF days in July so far.

My mission for this week is AF until Friday night and if I do that I’ll be pleased with myself. All the wine is back in the garage.

Dion, I hear you re bored kids. Dd has been off a week and isn’t bored yet but will doubtless start moaning soon and ds is away with his dad on holiday but will be back next week wanting lifts everywhere. dh and I will then get up to go to work every day and they will both still be asleep. But will wake up, make a mess etc and moan about being bored.

Urgh, Water that’s what it’s like here too. DS1 is also at an even looser end because his girlfriend’s gone on holiday with her family.

I didn’t go on a date in the end Flossie. I went to get my nails done, then DS1 said he was coming home, and was going to a friend’s. Then the friend cancelled. It somewhat killed the mood!

I bumped into the bloke I snogged in the nightclub in Booths while I was stocking up on real ale and rum. I nearly asked him to come back and hang out with me but I chickened out. Kicking myself a bit there as he was at a loose end too (and likes rum as I do). The bottle I bought is bloody lovely!

Flossie your party sounds like a right laugh! I’d love that. I had a brilliant birthday party a few years ago that was hilarious.

NC4 abuse is hard, I’ve had it from my ds too and it’s awful. I’m dreading him coming home next week. he’s in his 20s and sometimes so awful to all of us.

Knackered. Trekked over to west London for a blues festival thing. Was all right - caught up with old friend and kids played. Resisted beer. My cousin came too. They all talked about the marathons they were planning. Don't know where they find the energy.

Summer holiday logistical faff starts tomorrow. School not quite finished but nursery randomly closed so taking dd2 to forest school. Is also sports day for dd1. Trying to decide whether it's a three line whip.

I was talking to someone today who works as a counsellor and she said that mindfulness has been shown to physically change your brain for the better. She’s been doing it for years and recommends it so I’m gling to give it a go this week.

No news from dd, bet her phone is dead as she didn't pack a European charger. Picking her up tonight though so not long to go.

Ds is already bored and asking what we are doing today. All I want to do today is clean and organise the house, have a hour on the allotment and possibly go to the ponies. He's stroppy because I have told him the first job is to walk the dog. He wanted to go to the nature reserve with either a cousin or school friend. Currently whining its not fair and he's lonely. Fml.

Those are gorgeous kittens! Just been to watch a grumpy dd1 in sports day. I think she did well- somewhere in the middle, but she wouldn't have it. Both dds are pretty bad tempered about anything competitive. Dunno why, they don't take after me!

No mums here this week. Was supposed to have piano this evening but it's been cancelled, tempted to sneak out for a swim instead. Could take dds after school i suppose. Technically supposed to be working but have no childcare as nursery is closed and DM has sacked me off!

Definitely go for a swim Longest. I’m on my way for one. Indoor only here but nice all the same.

Bah, I tried to go swimming but the pool was full! Hot weather, bringing out all the dilletantes. I should get loyalty priority!

Feeling generally grumpy and could have really done with a swim to relax. Dd1 has been acting rude and entitled, as well as unkind to dd2. Dd2 has been shrieky and waily and refusing to go to bed. DH is opting out on grounds of illness. Am bored, mainly. Would have liked a glass of wine in the garden too, but am trying to be good. Would totally have caved if dh suggested it but he didn't.

Went for a rare run and felt marginally better until dd1 sprang out of bed the moment I got in the shower and started her overtired wittering again. Have left her in tears because she's suddenly changed her mind about not wanting to make something for her teacher (she made a lovely card and this afternoon decided that was enough). I said she probably had time to thread a bracelet in the morning but that suggestion went down like a lead balloon. Sigh. And now I've got my head round being AF DH suggests wine in the garden. Feel murderous. Is probably PMT.

NC4 those kittens are all gorgeous! What Frouby said, definitely go and see them with their mother and choose the cheekiest. Rather a cat with character a little less cute than a beautiful cat without personality.

Longest the run must have been hit this evening! That's the problem with public swimming pools, it's always very slightly annoying when people who never go the rest of the year go in very hot weather.

Week 4 of the school holidays here, just had DH's son and 2 friends stay (23 yr olds) boy do they eat a lot!).
Did my little triathlon Sunday and was as hopeless swimming as last time (just can't do the crawl in open water), better on the bike because I had a super bike, and worse running which was really disappointing because it's my main sport. The thyroid still isn't right so I can't run as fast.
DS did a little aqua run after and was equally hopeless on the swimming part!

NC he is gorgeous, when do you collect him or is he home already? Love Toby as a name, it was my first choice for DS (he's a Sebastian) but dh vetoed it. Am going to get a boy animal so I can still use it instead 😁.

Dd home, absolutely exhausted and starving but sounds like they have had a fab time. Bit traumatised by some of the bigger cemeteries and also the trenches but said Bruges is beautiful and we should go for a weekend one time. Quite fancy it actually, dh is a bit of a ww1 history buff ao he would like it as well.

Day got marginally better. I actually felt quite unwell this morning. Had a horrible sore throat for a few days and now nose dripping but I feel ok in myself. Felt really weak and tired this morning. Ds been to pick his sister up, then we had to come home via McDonald's as dd was starving to death so he's had a happy meal for his supper. So hopefully he will have a bit of a lie in tomorrow and I can too.

He was quick off the mark earlier. He's ready for a new bike, but has only just started riding his one properly instead of just standing on the top of his peddles. Said if he could peddle around the garden 10 times he could have a new bike this week. He did it and said he could. Then asked him if he was riding his pony tomorrow. 'Yes mummy, 10 times round the school and then I can have a new pony as well'. He's a fast cat for 5 😂😂

Nc4 whoops cross posted but Toby is a good name. Boy cats are always much more affectionate than the females.

Managed to stay AF but feel better after sitting outside to eat - there were owls hooting and everything! Dd1 crashed out eventually so hope she's less hard work tomorrow.

Am going to Sheffield again at the weekend for my auntie's golden wedding party. Was going to get the train but it's £££ so may have to drive, boo.

Just to say I am still here, just. Monstrously miserable, so am "solving" my problems by indulging in a depressant. . Vaguely coming to the conclusion that DP is my main problem, but not sure what, if anything, to do about this. Ashamed of a run of very wet nights, which don't help me to work out anything at all. I will catch up, though, when I am a) not working and b) sober.
