NC4 good luck with the friend issue. And day 5 is v impressive

Waterandlemonjuice · 15/06/2019 19:15

madame lol at “even hens have problems” 😂

Waterandlemonjuice · 15/06/2019 19:17

Well done on five days hippy

Waterandlemonjuice · 15/06/2019 19:22

Well done rightwayup that’s moderating for sure.

Flossie44 · 15/06/2019 21:15

Just home. Been out since 2pm. Moderated as such as drinks were literally flowing. Had two single gin and tonics. 2 white wine spritzers. Then a white wine in the restaurant. I poured a bit of the white whine spritzer away when no one was looking!! So actually it looks a lot to drink but that was over 6 hours.

NC4Now · 16/06/2019 12:35

Did you enjoy the day Flossie? It sounds nice.

This is a novelty - AF Saturday night, hangover free Sunday. I wish I could shake off this lurgy so I could enjoy it more.

Frouby · 16/06/2019 12:43

That's good moderating Flossie, especially pouring booze away!

Do you still feel rotten NC? Poor you, hate feeling poorly.

Enjoyed my bottle of wine this weekend but that's me dry now for at least 3 days. I have been very slack on SW this weekend and need to get back on track.

Been out for a few hours with both dcs and dh. Been to garden centre, b and m, tk max and morrisons and I want to kill them all now. Ds in particular can not cope with it, he's an absolute horror.

Going to do ironing shortly, change all beds and we're having roast beef for dinner. Then a nice bath and an early night I reckon before the Monday to friday madnesa starts again. Sigh.

Dh has also announced he is going to try a week AF. £5 whole quid says he doesn't manage beyond tomorrow teatime 😂😂😂

All gone wrong. 2 bottles today after a week off - what to do say sorry & bj or have a go at him ? Both are options right now

HippyTrails · 16/06/2019 19:29

Wow - just thought he’s done nothing wrong, he’s mowing the lawn with no idea. I am an arse

Frouby · 16/06/2019 19:35

Why are you an arse Hippy? Don't beat yourself up and definetly don't drink and blow!

All dry here, stuffed after roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, yum yum. Having a cup of tea then off to bed. Living the dream here.

Dionysa · 16/06/2019 19:46

I will return after I've sorted DD out, but Hippy, you are not an arse.

Flossie44 · 16/06/2019 19:57

Hippy - that certainly does not make you an arse. Why do you owe him anything?

Frouby - beef n yorkies, omg sounds delish!!

Dion - hope dd is ok? And how are you lovely lady?

NC4 - is the lurgy easing?

Hi to everyone else 👋🏼

As for me..woke with no hangover this morn. Pleased I didn’t get completely pissed yesterday. Daytime drinking doesn’t suit me so I deffo missed out on a few drinks offers so to stop the feeling of doom!! I never skip rounds usually but was quite chuffed I did. We were with another couple and them and dh were on pints, literally necking them. My friend is so dainty so I’ve no idea how she was still standing. My couple of g&t’s and couple of spritzers was very tame!!
Am going to have cheese and biccies, with a nice glass of Merlot once dh gets home from bloody golf!!

longestlurkerever · 16/06/2019 20:26

Well done Flossie! Glad you enjoyed your moderate weekend.

I have had a pretty nice weekend with DM really. Was busy though. Pizza oven thing turned out to be a lot more effort than I imagined, you had to feed the bloody thing with twigs for hours on end, and fetch and saw the branches. A hippy was showing us how to do it and kept forgetting all the things we needed so kept having to pop out to shops. Is bloody gorgeous there though - a hidden orchard meadow in zone 3, who knew? And the hippies have built a full on house out of mud. Impressive.

Was running late so DH took dd1 to science thingy which I am very pleased about, though he was asleep on sofa in the cafe when I went to join them! DM took dd2 to build a bear at the South bank and didn't lose her or anything. We all met up for tea.

Then today we went to a vintage fun fair that comes every year and is lovely really, and then out for Vietnamese for father's Day. They do rice noodles which DH can eat so we pretty much live there but was still nice and kids didn't squabble for once. Just back now. AF today. Probs had slightly too much last night with DM as felt a bit meh when kids got me up early, but neither of us went mad, which was good.

NC4, Dion, surely your germs have buggered off now?

MadameForest · 16/06/2019 20:32

Hippy I hope you are OK, at least OH is still cutting the grass

Frouby if anyone has the willpower to get back to the diet and being AF you do. I wouldn't even bet you £1 that OH won't stick to being AF past tomorrow teatime, mine certainly hasn't.

Flossie excellent moderating, well done!

NC4 I hope this weekend has seen off your lurgy.

Water good luck if you try to be AF

No hangover this morning either, we went out last night for a meal with DP's daughter and my DS and DD, I drove so just one glass of wine. Not a gastro restaurant but one of our favourite burger places, homemade bun, homemade sauces, homemade icecream, everything really homemade, or as much as possible. It's the only fast food I eat, and isn't really that fast.
Hyperthyroidism has kicked in again, so far not too badly, but am hungry all the time as well as a little tired. Appointment 5th July to see if its possible to do something other than surgery, if not I'll have to have the thyroid removed, but it isn't anything serious, just a PITA because it will mean 2 days in hospital.

longestlurkerever · 16/06/2019 20:43

Aw, sorry to hear that about your thyroid Madame, sounds rubbish.

NC4Now · 16/06/2019 21:07

That doesn't sound good Madame. I mean, the burgers and ice cream, they sound lush, but the thyroid not so. Do you think they might be able to treat it with medication or anything before resorting to surgery?

My lurgy is still kicking around. It's just a really chesty cough now, and tiredness. I'm better than I was but I've not been poorly with a chest infection for years. Thanks for all the kindness.

Hippy I doubt you are an arse, especially if he's oblivious. Don't beat yourself up.

Flossie excellent moderating.

I've had a nice day. Went to see my friend today and told her all about the situation with my other friend. She reassured me that I have nothing to feel bad about and DF is over reacting and lashing out. I pretty much knew that but its nice to know I've still got friends.
She offered to take me when I go for the colposcopy too, which was really kind of her, and said she'd had similar a few years ago and not to worry about it.

Then DS1 brought his girlfriend round for tea,. She's a lovely girl - very sweet, bright and with a cheeky glint in her eye. I like her and I can see why she gets on with DS1.

I had two glasses of wine with my tea, but I'm all out now, so I'm going to follow in Frouby's footsteps and have a brew and bed. I've enjoyed my moderate weekend.

Flossie44 · 16/06/2019 21:18

NC4 - so pleased your friend was supportive. It is bound to empower you. Well done on your two glass limit today.

I’m limiting myself to half bottle of red.

Dionysa · 16/06/2019 22:49

Just caught up. Really struggling with too much to do, and also with this hideous chest/throat thing. I can't sleep for coughing, and can't speak (no voice at all, to DD's relief). She was sick last night and said that means she can't go to school tomorrow, but could I give her a lift into town at lunchtime to meet a friend. Um, no.

NC4, I'm glad your friend has been supportive. It really helps, doesn't it?

Some good moderation going on ATM. I'm astounded by the Day Six Plus crew. Frouby, I'm going to try to be you, even though I can't cook.

Madame, I'm really sorry about the thyroid flaring up again. I hope it settles.

Flossie, thank you for asking after me. I have been thinking about you and DD2.

I'm glad you had a good day, Longest.

DD gave XH a card, but Father's Day otherwise went un-noticed. Every bloody day was his day when we were married.

I have a temperature and feel like crap, so am going to bed now. AF tonight. Had a bottle or so of white yesterday between lunch and bed. DP is working away for the next few days, so invited me for lunch yesterday. I'm going to try to be AF while he's away, as I find him less stressful when he isn't here (IYSWIM). And that makes me less inclined to drink. I have found Day One very hard, though, not least as I want to have a night's sleep, and wine helps (until I wake up with Beer Fear).

NC4Now · 16/06/2019 22:57

I think you’ve got what I’ve got Dion. I got through nights 1,2 & 3 with Nytol and Lemsip.

The night coughing’s awful isn’t it? My ribs ache from it.

Dionysa · 16/06/2019 23:15

Thanks, NC4. Yes, it's horrible. I'm on Night Nurse and Benylin. 😷🤧🤒

Flossie44 · 16/06/2019 23:58

Oh Dion. Get well soon lovely Flowers

Flossie44 · 17/06/2019 07:13

Madame - sorry to read about your thyroid. That must be very frustrating for you. I really hope you can avoid surgery Flowers

Dionysa · 17/06/2019 07:25

Thank you Flossie. You are such a kind soul. You always think of everyone else, despite all that you have to deal with. x

SenselessUbiquity · 17/06/2019 08:52

Hi everyone.
Not doing at all well on the not / moderate drinking. I'll try again this week.

Flossie44 · 17/06/2019 09:19

How are you senseless?
