Thread 4 for support, tips, tricks and friendship as we reduce our alcohol intake even more. For anyone who wants to reduce, stop, moderate or even just track their drinking.

Absolutely no judgement, just support. Everyone welcome.

Previous threads somewhere but am rubbish at clicky links.

Old tryers and new dryers, welcome to our thread. The one that starts in February and will see us all hit our goals as we move forwards.

The sherry is finished, btw. FML.

Flossie44 · 21/02/2019 21:22

Dion - apparently sherry contains all the minerals and vitamins you need according to my nan. So therefore I see it as an old fashioned dioralyte....

Frouby · 21/02/2019 21:36

Sherry doesn't actually count anyway Dion. It's a fortified wine, like horlicks is a fortified malt drink, it's practically health food. O units. You're good love.

Dionysa · 21/02/2019 21:37

Thanks, Flossie. I feel completely pissed, so that helps enormously!! xx

Dionysa · 21/02/2019 21:38

You too, Frouby (dunno why I can only see one post at a time). Horlicks 😂

Flossie44 · 21/02/2019 21:42

Love the fact that frouby has linked sherry to the likes of Horlicks Grin
I’m hoping you can come up with some more of these beauties when we start our diet!!

Dionysa · 21/02/2019 21:59

I'm loving the Horlicks thing too, Flossie. This means my bottle glass of sherry was positively good for me. Grin

Flossie44 · 21/02/2019 22:15

I’d say you are brimming with good health after that tipple!! Better than any vegetable smoothie you could possibly drink by the sound of it

NC4Now · 21/02/2019 22:16

Shuffle up on Tipsy Street Dion.

Dionysa · 21/02/2019 22:58

Why, thank you, Flossie. Grin

NC4Now, you actually made me laugh out loud with that comment. Flossie's dioralyte was pretty good, too.

Let's try again tomorrow, from Sober Alley.

waterandlemonjuice · 22/02/2019 00:18

Dionysa sorry about dd and plumbers bill and wankerbastard

Flossie that is serious moderation

I drank last night and tonight, sigh. May do dry March.

Frouby · 22/02/2019 07:45

I wasn't dry last night, won't be tonight or tomorrow 😂😂. But will be sunday.

Flossie am an expert at turning non diet food into health food, just wait Grin.

Boys are like Duracell bunnies I have decided. 5 hours walking, running and playing ds did yesterday. He was still bpuncing around last night. Taking them round the lake today. It's about 2 miles so maybe that will do it. Maybe.

We also have a polytunnel to build this weekend. Fuck sake. Guaranteed me and dh will argue. He doesn't follow instructions, I am anal about following instructions. It never ends well Grin

Hello everyone. Back from Oxford. Had a nice time. Was very moderate amd went to bed at same time as dcs but still managed to trip over in the street (after one tiny glass of wine) and hurt my ankle, doh. Had a good time though. Dd1 quite taken with it and asked why we can't live somewhere a bit more like it! Dd2 liked "everything except the dinosaurs".

Dionysa · 22/02/2019 19:00

Thanks, Water.

Glad you had a good time, Longest!

Hope you managed to wear out DS, Frouby.

Having a cup of tea ATM. Feel rotten after last night. Don't know why I keep doing this. DP not communicating, either. Not a happy evening!

NC4Now · 22/02/2019 21:26

Same Dion.

Dionysa · 22/02/2019 22:47

NC4, we can be tea and misery twins ☹️☕️ Did, for once, have a nice evening with both DC, though. They have called a temporary truce.

I tried to listen to the Ailsa Frank hypnotherapy recording earlier today in an attempt to remind myself why I must have a night off, but fell asleep during it as I was so shattered after yet another beer-fear night...

NC4Now · 22/02/2019 23:08

That’s nice that you spent time with your kids in peace. My friend came round with cider earlier. I had a pint, but that was my lot, then back on the brews.
Early night for me tonight. Today’s been a write off.

Dionysa · 22/02/2019 23:34

Today a write-off for me as well, NC4. And my early night hasn't happened, as DC1 is now panicking about feeling sick. FML.

Frouby · 23/02/2019 10:44

Morning all

Have only come on to moan about how shit I feel. Had a few but not millions of beers last night, dh announced he didn't fancy chilli as planned and was ordering a kebab. I went with it as was knackered after a massive walk and building a polytunnel and transferring a strawberry bed all afternoon.

Anyway. Fink the kebab was a dodgy one Envy < not envy. Didn't eat much of it cos it was rubbish anyway, but good job I didn't, woke up at 3am with really, really bad stomach cramps and death sweats. Was those sorts of cramps you daren't fart with. Then I felt sick. Still feel rough now and we are going out out later. And I can't not go, dcs and dp really looking forward to it, we are going to our friends house, then pub then back to theirs for a curry. Envy

Dionysa · 23/02/2019 11:05

Poor Frouby. Only you could be so funny about farting while you are not well. I am very sorry to hear it. I hope the nan nap helps...

longestlurkerever · 23/02/2019 13:48

Ugh sounds horrible Frouby. I hope you feel better soon.

Frouby · 23/02/2019 14:30

A nice reviving can of carling seems to be helping a little bit. Old 'nam trick. Drink through the pain.

When I say 'nam it's to be said in a thick, nasal yorkshire drawl. 'Nam. Short for Roverham. 😂😂😂

Dion skybet doing money back up to £20 for first race at Cheltenham, easy £80 for you there lovely. Back and lay as snr and probably only take £1 or £2 QL. So £70 profit overall. That's just whats be announced so far, be more offers from the rest of the big uns as we get closer. And if you win rather than lose, and get Best Odds Guaranteed it could be even juicier 😂😂

I am having chippy picnic on the cricket field. Not sure if we are really meant to be here but it's our secret place. Kids are actually playing together without intervention. Is warm and sunny. Only thing missing is a pint. I think maybe this is what happiness is like.

NC4Now · 23/02/2019 17:11

Longest that’s lovely 😍 I love days like that, when everything feels peaceful.

Dionysa · 23/02/2019 17:13

Frouby, I'm glad the can is helping Grin.

Now flapping about Skybet! No idea what to do, but will try now... Thank you!

Longest, that sounds fab. Smile
