Please critique my house photos for Rightmove?!

These are the photos of my home, ready to put on Rightmove. I am extremely nervous as I've never put up a house for sale before! Please could you give me some constructive feedback?

You may recognise the front door from a previous thread!

I don’t understand the front door. You’ve decorated the house plain and neutral and then you’ve got a garish pink front door, it’s so random

Get rid of the hall photo

Get rid of the rug on the kitchen floor and the flowers on the hob

Your dining room is confused. Get rid of the sofa, pull the table out into the room. Put the kitchen flowers on it instead of the lamp. This room has lovely light!

Sitting room. Loose the window screen and the coffee table

Put the window screen from downstairs in the second bedroom
Take the desk from that bedroom and the sofa from the dining room and put them in the loft conversion to stage it as a WFH space

Maybe add some colour throughout

Can you strip the wallpaper in the hallway and paint it an off white? The rest of the house looks lovely but the hallway looks tired and dated (sorry!)

To me it looks lovely, clean and neat …regardless of where you have put flowers or how the different areas are presented a buyer won’t be looking at such details.. it’s rooms and how they work and trust me I looked at plenty 😂 good luck OP looks like a gem ❤️

Yeah I’d def do something with the attic room as it’s a bit confusing. The photos of the second baedroom make it look like you’re trying to disguise that it is a small single, if it isn’t then try and do something to show its true size. Agree with the flowers, right, dining table and screen comments above! Coukd you live the sofa into the attic as a comfy reading room type thing? Garden is coming into autumn winter so agree if you can spruce up decking it’s one job less for new buyers! But on the whole it’s a lovely well cared for house, I would probably just be questioning the attic use and second bedroom size if this was a real life search.

It comes across as well kept, very clean, good light in all the rooms and more spacious than it looks from the outside. I didnt notice the flowers in your kitchen, I counted your cupboards and checked how much surface there is- for a small ish kitchen it looks well designed. Its hard to say without knowing the price or location but I think your photos are good and your home looks attractive. Good luck :)

Agree with this. It is a very odd place to put the flowers...

I think if possible just move them for the pictures and then put them back. Although I appreciate that is hard for the sofa! But the coffee table and window privacy screen could easily be moved and put back. People are better able to see past things when they are actually in the house, compared to seeing pictures.

I’m only saying this because you asked and I’m being picky, and I actually think that your house looks lovely - but a mattress on the floor in an otherwise empty attic is a bit “and here’s where I keep my kidnap victims”. A small desk and chair maybe, under the window? Or the yoga idea from PP.

Crop and brighten!

The back room is both a dining room and a lounge. I use that room during the day and then the front room as a snug at night. I would move the brown sofa if I could, but there's no where for it to go and i don't want to pay for storage...

Very kind, thank you. I know my tastes won't be the same as everyone else's but I just wanted it to look clean and neat really. I would have liked it to have looked brighter too but the photos decided against that!

Why don't you put the extra sofa in the attic? Make it look like a living space rather than a kidnap destination? Stick a chair and desk in there too, it would be a spacious WFH set up

Funny about the decking, I spent the summer putting treatment on it! I think it looks not good because it was wet when the photos were taken!

What time of day did you take the photos? They do make it look dark and it's very obvious the lights are all on, so it would make me think the property has cave like qualities

Did you take the photos or did you have a professional? I assume the former. In some way, I like that because I know they’ve not used any funny tricks to make rooms look bigger but I’d also assume that you’re either using some kind of online estate agent to save money or have taken your own pictures to save money and I’d be worried that you’d have done some of the work on the house ‘on the cheap’ too. This is probably incredibly unjustified on my part but that would be my immediate impression. Which is a shame because I think the house is lovely!

The only negatives would be stuff already mentioned - the middle dining/sofa room and the attic.

I really liked the suggestion of making the attic into a meditation space.

I think your yard is lovely. Nothing wrong with the decking.

Get a professional in. While it’s obviously clean and tidy, it does look very dark.

Kitchen... Remove the microwave, flowers (only display flowers of one type not mixed bunches unless v expensive) and the basket on the fridge... Open the blind more and remove the rug. Dining Room.. pick a lane .. get a bigger table or remove it and the rug should be in bedroom... living room... Coffee table has to go as does the screen and the mirror on the fireplace is way too small. Bedroom 1... Remove the weird shaped rug and change the position of the other one to the end of the bed, get rid of the white box thing and possibly move the wicker crate to end of bed or out of the picture? ... Bedroom 2... What's with the artwork and macrame? Get rid of the top hall picture, it adds nothing. I would say overall .. it looks decent enough and I know people are not buying your stuff and just the house BUT it is very beige.... Very. The art work you have is too small for the spaces they are in which leaves them looking a bit lost. The garden is ok but could do with a scrub... You have to remember, that most people looking at houses have little imagination so you are presenting a finished lifestyle to them unless it is a complete wreck which it clearly isn't.

Your house looks great. Nothing more to add apart from remove the cars from the front house photo (easily edited out), maybe add flowers near the front door?
