My mum wore Youth Dew too. She died 16 years ago, far too young. I miss her, thank you for the nice thread and memory. I still have her last bottle, when I get home I will spray it and see if it still smells of her ❤️

my dearly departed dad aramis if I’ll smell it at duty free or on holiday it brings a tear to my eye. And i will spray it intentionally.

My mum smelt of a combo of Opium, oil of ulay and perm lotion. She always wore a silk petticoat under her skirt/dress and tan tights without fail.

Mitsouko perfume and a beautiful opal ring. I thought she was so glamorous! I don't really remember what clothes she wore.

She is still quite glamorous now when we take her out, aged 84!

Givenchy III, Anais Anais and Oil of Ulay. She had a fur coat and used to come back and tell me everything they’d had to eat!

Blue grass. Fenjal bath. @MabelAnderson i also associate it with carsickness. She’d liberally spray it in the car. 🤢

but I’m disappointed to see all the fashionable perfumes of my youth listed as ‘mothers’’! Feel old now 🤣

I remember the clothes more than the scent. The look was very Margot Leadbetter, the going out was to choir and am dram. I have a few bits of appr costume jewellery.

My mum wore Blue Grass perfume, her 3 stone diamond engagement ring or her opal and diamond ring and her bright pink lipstick. She also wore a string of pearls too. This was in the sixties.

Shalimar. The only perfume she has ever worn. I remember having the flu when I was little - and while she and dad were travelling for a few weeks so weren't with me - and wrapping myself in a cardigan that smelt of her perfume, hoping it would make me feel at least a little better.

Poison. And lots of it.

She wanted to be noticed and her choice of perfume certainly achieved that.

I think the term court shoes is still the correct one.

1960s I remember short black shift dress, and Balmain Jolie Madame.

Rive Gauche and if we were going out as a family we'd get in the car with her reeking of it and it would make me feel sick. Still can't bear it, I have a sniff at a perfume counter every bow and then and it makes me feel nauseous.

Rive Gauche was my mums 'go to' as well. Someone once bought me some, and I really couldn't wear it. It didn't 'belong' to me, IYSWIM.
