What everyday hassle do you wish someone would invent a solution for?

Leaving partners and children themselves out of it 😄 — what’s one thing that repeatedly wastes your time, costs you money or drives you mad?

Something you dealt with this week would be ideal. What would you want a product, app or device to actually do for you?

Have you bought anything to solve it already? What was still missing?

I’m exploring potential product ideas, so this is market research. There’s nothing being sold here.

Hate brushing my teeth…
A teeth-brushing chewable?

Childcare robot. So we can just do the fun bits, not sterilising and cleaning everything!

Showering, honestly l spend ages thinking l must have a shower, l know it only takes 10mins but l bloody hate it. Especially on days off when l have no deadline to be ready.

Something that sorts my washing out, hangs it out, & puts it away. Something that cooks.

It's not instant but buying a cloud 9 airshot pro hairdryer with the volumisers has changed my life. I can get lovely smooth hair (straight or bouncy curls) in under 10 mins from sopping wet. I've got so many different hairstylers (babyliss big hair, revlon one step, ghd straighteners, babyliss curl secret and remington hot rollers) and could happily get rid of all of them now.

Not tried them but I assume similar dyson/ shark offerings probably do the same thing.

I was just thinking about this earlier. I knit and occasionally mess up a line so have to unravel it. Trying to get the remaining stitches back on a needle is a nightmare, as is trying to sew through the line below with yarn to 'catch' the stitches before unraveling the current line. Something that solves that would be fantastic!

I would like a ski lift to drag me up the hill from the station every evening. It's not even that far, but there is no alternative and I hate it.

I want something to read all our emails, school newsletters, work calendars, text messages etc and basically be a virtual PA - highlighting in advance when I need to book afterschool club, reminding me about needing to buy birthday presents and all the daily life shit I have to remember.

I've set something up through ChatGPT and Alexa combined that does a pretty good job of the home stuff but it can't link in with work stuff.

Also something that laundered all the clothes and put them away folded and ironed in the correct drawers for each person. Fucking hate laundry. If it could also discard outgrown clothes and highlight that someone was short on leggings/ knickers etc I would pay half my salary for it.

@FancyKitten they used to have these in the service station toilets about 10 years ago.....tried em a couple of times on long journeys

Something that makes beds - especially putting duvet covers on king size duvets, I’m too short and my arms are too to make it straightforward. Most times I end up with my head in the duvet cover trying to sort it out 🤦🏻‍♀️

Dyson Airstrait has already been invented for this (and it’s fab-u-lous)

Someone to come and get my car and go and get petrol. (And also for petrol to be a £1 cheaper than it is 😭)

prepareforharvest · Yesterday 22:43

Something I could record all the food I had in my house and it would compile a weekly meal plan that i could set to be a certain number of calories, or comfort food, or child friendly and it would then write a shopping list of what else I needed

sherbetlemonade · Yesterday 22:48

Something that changes duvet covers.

coralneon · Yesterday 22:53

First person nailed it !

coralneon · Yesterday 22:54

@MotherTuckinGenius how instant is it ? My hair is long and thick

Kickinthenostalgia · Yesterday 22:55

Something that unloads the dishwasher, such a tedious job… or takes the washing off the line… have no issues putting it out, but hate taking it off and sorting out 😆
