So, how many boats of people should be welcomed? What if 20 boats arrive a day? A ferry is commandeered?

We cannot accommodate or finance hundreds of thousands of men - most of whom are not only low-skilled, but have poor English. Not to mention that we have absolutely no idea if they are criminals.

Another point is that are we expecting these men to live like monks? There are insufficient women here who might fancy any of them, to be blunt. The next problem I foresee is trafficked women (or girls) for prostitution.

The problem with the left, and the reason Labour won’t be re elected in our life times, is that they don’t listen.

Is that they equate (or at least pretend to equate) rabid people like the rnli boat slasher, to normal people with genuine concerns.

Boat crossings are decreasing - thankfully as reading of drownings is horrific - and we should be mindful of that.

In my view the morally bankrupt posters are those pretending that allowing thousands of undocumented young men from cultures with completely different values to our own into our country is not going to do harm to women and girls.

I live/work in a quiet Gloucestershire town and immigration has had a massive impact locally on healthcare/education/housing. We don't want these people here. They don't benefit society in any way, they don't integrate and they refuse to follow local customs. Why come here and try to make it the same as "back home"? I don't understand it. I don't want to walk down the high street and feel that I'm on another continent, I want it to feel familiar.

When I go abroad, I want to taste local food, learn the language, immerse myself in the culture. That's the entire point surely of leaving home?!

Yet people still froth and go off on one even if it could be protection for workers due to the protestors there.
I swear, critical thinking and checking sources is a thing of the past now, people don't seem to check for themselves anymore. Just go off what they're told it is which is quite worrying really.

They’re pretty dim economic migrants then. It costs them thousands to get here then they’re given less than £50 a week.

I started off feeling compassion for these so called desperate people but my patience with them has all but disappeared.

As a country we simply can’t afford to keep taking people in. We have more than enough needs already, that aren’t being met.

The NHS has never been so stretched. Just getting a GP appointment is a joke. I rang this morning and was 35th in the queue. The online request was closed. I remember how easy it was to see your GP. You went there during surgery hours and you were seen.

When my DH was ill I was told to call an ambulance. Ambulance control told me the wait was currently 12 hours. I took him in the car, which was fine but then you get to A &E and it’s standing room only and a wait of eight hours. My DH felt really unwell by now and I started to panic. Anyway, he died a week later.

Our schools are crumbling, we don’t pay teachers enough to stay in the profession.

Those in the know tell us we aren’t safe from the likes of Russia.

Why are there ample services available to these illegals? Why aren’t we looking after people who already live here? WTAF is going on?

The problem is where they live they probably have a rubbish job. If any job. No money. No home. No healthcare. No dentist. No access to women wearing western clothes.

They come here and get all of that for free, without doing anything.

So the question is more why wouldn’t they come here?

And there are millions more who can and will try to benefit from our generosity.

It’s up to the gvts to stop it at source. But it seems they don’t want to.

I’m on your side. I’ve backed you up on many of your threads.(clearly I’m not very memorable). and I didn’t use the word untruths I said misinformation.

I was just picking up what I thought was a serious comment and I don’t see why anyone would post misinformation in this situation. Things are bad enough already and you know that.

It’s not hard to understand why. If my country were subjected to US-orchestrated political turmoil, invasion by European ground troops, resultant chaos of dozens of warring rebel groups fighting to take control once the invaders/ dictator/ democratic government faded away - I think I would consider emigrating!! Well, I’d probably send my young son on ahead, to be honest, and stay to make sure my mum is okay until he could get settled and help provide a base.
Humans are characterised by their willingness to migrate, as much as by their opposable thumbs. We move! My friend is moving abroad simply because of the bad weather - just imagine if climate change started to curtail your ability to farm, or to feed yourself- or to go about your daily life without being interrupted by a charging glacier, as happened in Nepal recently.
There is no conspiracy, just increasing uncertainty twinned with a greater facility to move large distances. This is why us Anglo-Saxons are here, after all, and the world continues to turn.
