I take your point, but it's only "we" in the context of this thread.
When someone says something like "they all hate trans people" they are demeaning and lying about a whole group of different people. So when I say "we" in response I mean speaking as one of the group demeaned, l know I don't think that so I know "we" are not being portrayed fairly. I am not suggesting a hive mind on anything else!
But the thing about FWR maybe more than any of the other boards is there is a groundhog day quality where people come to the board again and again with the same old propositions that have been debated and found lacking.
Ideally, the arguments would then move on to the poster who made the proposition addressing the various contra points raised but that never happens because generally the poster either switches to insults or feels insulted themself and leaves.
So from the perspective of the women on the board, who while not a hive mind generally do care a lot about the impact on women of redefining womenhood as a mental rather than a physical attribute, it does feel like one is making the same fairly clear arguments again and again to people who are not bothering to read the board and get a sense for previous discussions before jumping in with "But have you considered XYZ...", to which the answer is almost always going to be "Yes, many times. Have you considered that if XYZ were to be true/were to happen, the consequences for female people would then be ABC... is that something you want to happen/think is reasonable?"
I can see from the POV of someone new it probably feels like women are just knee jerk replying without thinking. But the reality is most people who post regularly on FWR have been thinking about it deeply for a long time, and through posting have not only talked and thought through exactly where they stand and why on pretty much all the key arguments, but also through explaining the same points so many times have refined their answers so they are ready to go.
I hope you'll come back. If you lurk a while you'll probably find it far less harsh than you fear. Just please, either bring a new perspective or be ready to argue an old one properly!
