A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 🥀

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Burnham saying it's time for hope. Yes we are hoping very much that this is the start of his electoral suicide.

CaveMum · 29/09/2026 08:05

I can’t see why Burnham would call an early GE at this stage. As Ed & George said on their podcast, Gordon Brown was 10 points ahead in the polls and thought it too risky to go to the country - Burnham is barely 2 points up. Plus he’s hardly going to add to his majority so it would be pure vanity.

From a purely bipartisan point of view, surely if you are going to enact something potentially unpopular - care tax, etc - you do it early/mid Parliament so that the electorate have time to calm down before the next election anyway.

EasternStandard · 29/09/2026 08:09

Ruttering · 29/09/2026 07:57

It looks as though we’ve got a care taker govt to
me - Burnham is saying he’ll run next election on care service and tax rise for it, he’s stuck with Keir’s manifesto…very few headlines?

More sound bites but no policy from today most likely.

Yes it does feel like that. Fine Labour can leave us alone for a bit while they try to figure out what to run on.

Except he’s boxed himself in @CaveMum - it looks like he’s announced that he’s setting up care service and raising tax after winning (!) next GE, and, same for triple lock changes.

so given that he’s tied himself off from the big actions, where’s the rabbit? Where’s the headline grabber that he thinks is going to gather the momentum for the eventual re election?

not sure he hasn’t made the nick clegg mistakes here - come in and say ‘I have to go with cons coalition as they got most votes’, have to go along with tuition fees etc. if he is saving his ideas for post election whilst sticking to Keir (a manifesto nobody really chose for positive reasons) he is misunderstanding how unpopular those policies now are. We’ll see…

EasternStandard · 29/09/2026 08:27

Although listening to Times radio they will have diesel costs as an incoming issue that can’t be glossed over with bumper sticker lines.

Sarahconnor1 · 29/09/2026 08:27

There is a lot of ridicule on line about the far right black lab comment, rightly so.

What on earth was she thinking, it shows just how far removed from the voters, the country and possibly reality some MPs are.

Ruttering · 29/09/2026 08:29

Yes let’s parody a dog most people like behaving itself as the emblem of the far right…😂

EasternStandard · 29/09/2026 08:32

The black lab line what a gift. But also how ridiculous Labour is.

Nuthatch26 · 29/09/2026 08:48

Ruttering · 29/09/2026 07:50

Wow that’s some fairly talentless rhetoric from jenny isn’t it - I don’t think you’re supposed to make your straw man look appealing…

Ikr.
If this is 'far-right', sign me up.

Given that Labour has seemingly welcomed over 80,000 illegal immigrants to the UK in the past two years, I do wonder whether Jenny RC is playing to a particular audience.

Nuthatch26 · 29/09/2026 08:53

The online ridicule is thoroughly deserved. Thats got to be the most stupid thing I've heard from Labour yet. Do they get even more batshit when they're all in the same room together?

Love this from Conservative chair Kevin Hollinrake. 😁

I suspect SM will be covered in photos of dogs in pubs with a pint this weekend.

She'll may appeal to dog hating non drinking teetotal voters 🤷

My wax coat is very scruffy I nearly chucked it out last week. I'm going to patch it up now.

I wonder what the Farmers Dog will make of this.

Aw how can you not love a Lab. What a thing for Labour to say, idiots.

Living the dream in that pic sounds good.

You'll be labelled a nonce bonnet for going to a pub with your dog. 😂😂

Where do Labour find these people?

She went to NAOS University they grabbed her young. Lammy and some other very odd notables went there according to Wikipedia.

Nuthatch26 · 29/09/2026 09:19

It just goes to show how totally out of touch Labour are with the public.
@AndyKitten was spot on when she asked if they were trying to out muppet each other.

AndyKitten · 29/09/2026 09:21

A right wing nonce bonnet.

Bloody labs.

Its not enough for them to steal socks and knickers and roll in fox poo and shed on the sofa, they were apparently
hiding a much darker secret.

Ban them from
Crufts, I say.
