First one I’m going back around 50 years to when BHS used to have a sandwich counter. Me and my then fiancé (we got married but many years later divorced) always bought a half baguette filled with tinned salmon and salad, when we went in town shopping on a Saturday. It fed the two of us and to this day my mouth waters thinking about it.
Boxes of dried soup mix, maybe Knorr? Loved the minestrone one, emptied into a pan of water and brought to the boil then simmered. Loved it.
Sainsbury’s crown loaf (I think it was called), a dense loaf shaped in a ring, we called it the doughnut loaf. Lovely and yeasty, crisp crust and soft and tasty inside. Never had bread like it since.
Iceland stuffed crust pizza shaped in a ring and a dip to serve in the middle. I used to always have several in my freezer as we all loved them.
M&S Chocolate raisins, they used to have them covered in milk, dark and white chocolate all together in one bag. I swear the raisins were bigger and juicier than the bags of milk chocolate ones they have now.
Waitrose loose florentines from the bakery counter, think they were 10p each, what a treat.
And the most recent - Waitrose Tuna Mayo and Cucumber sub roll. I used to get one every Saturday with my Waitrose delivery, until a few months ago. Then suddenly no longer listed under their sandwiches menu. I wrote to customer services who assured me it wasn’t being discontinued and they were just having supplier issues - liars, it’s been months with no appearance. I changed it to a ham salad sub roll but that’s now disappeared too.
