Omg I shagged the vicar

BC for this one!!

last summer I moved to a new village with my 2 teen DC’s following my divorce. I’ve made a real effort to integrate into village life and joined a cycling group which I love.

a couple of new members joined a few months ago, one of whom is the vicar from a nearby parish. He’s 39 single. I’m 43.

on Friday we all met for drinks snd I ended Ho inviting a group back to my house. Kids are away with their dad. We all had a few more drinks at my house before people started heading home. There’s been a little bit of flirtation between me and the vicar and it ended up just me and him- we had some more wine and he was being very complimentary and was clearly trying it on. We ended up kissing and I’m afraid that I ended up shagging him on my kitchen sofa. Very out of character for me.

im now mortified that I have to see him at cycle meet this week. My friends think it’s hilarious but im worried he’ll think I’m loose and common. 😲

Assuming hes not sworn a vow of celibacy, he is allowed to indulge in some rumpy-pumpy 😆
Any chance of round 2? 😍🥰

Vicars don’t have those restrictions. When I was growing up in the 70s the Sunday papers always seemed to have a report about a vicar running of with a parishioner’s wife. 😬

Strawberrymilkshakez · 31/08/2026 14:29

This is brilliant! I hope he served you well! If he thinks you are loose imagine what you are allowed to think of him!

Neverstopwondering · 31/08/2026 14:31

im worried he’ll think I’m loose and common

Surely that would make him loose and common too if true

Not like you snagged a priest or nun. Vicars can date and marry etc. Two consenting adults.

Saying all that I would be joking about it too if I was one of your friends. Probably going to be reminded of this for years 😁

3peassuit · 31/08/2026 14:31

I like the idea of a kitchen sofa. I wonder what the best fabric would be.

vicars can shag though? It's priests who aren't supposed to.

OP - can we see the sofa?

Once they are married!

Sex outside of marriage is definitely a sin.

My money is on him being CoE. They stopped bothering with the religion bit of Christianity a long time ago. 😁

Sam9769 · 31/08/2026 14:33

Is he hot?

ShitHoleDweller · 31/08/2026 14:33

I didn’t know vicars were allowed to do that!!!! I bet if you told his boss they wouldn’t like it (and by boss I don’t mean. The big G)

Vicars most certainly do have these restrictions. Fornication is a sin and so is adultery.

What’s a CDM?

Cadburys Dairy Milk is what springs to my mind but I don't suppose it's that 😁

Summerhillsquare · 31/08/2026 14:35

YABU for having a kitchen sofa.

Otherwise crack on.

Nofeckingway · 31/08/2026 14:36

It's OK to shag the vicar if you are both single . But why the hell did you go and tell your friends all about it ??! Guess you don't want to do it again . Ever. Imagine if went and told the verger and the choir master .

AnswerIsNo · 31/08/2026 14:36

I assume BC = Banged Clergy

"Down with that sort of thing"

I want a kitchen sofa 🤔

I want a younger, better looking Vicar!

When l was getting married in the late 1980s, we went to see the local vicar to book the church.
He was very sniffy about us having the same address.
Fast forward to two weeks before the wedding, he'd left his wife and run off with one of the parishioners.

Berlinlover · 31/08/2026 14:37

Did he bring the condoms?

Something wipe clean in this situation, l hope....

BurntBroccoli · 31/08/2026 14:37

Good start (or end) to a new bonk buster!

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 31/08/2026 14:37

I'm a bit surprised at the amount of kitchen sofa love going on here. My friend doesn't have an enormous kitchen but still has a sofa in it and I dont think that it's ever used as anything other than somewhere to chuck coats & bags.

Equally I'm not aware that she shags members of the clergy on it either, but I may suggest it as an alternative use 😂.

If this is true then he's opened himself to a world of possible CDMs. Idiot.

(I'm married to a vicar)

Wouldn't someone (or someone's pussy cat) have to make a complaint about him first? Or do they have some kind of shagging alarm that alerts them if he gets lucky?

LydiaJayne · 31/08/2026 14:39

Lossaloft · 31/08/2026 14:34

Vicars most certainly do have these restrictions. Fornication is a sin and so is adultery.

For a while I had a job that involved a rather early start and I would often see a local church warden (male) driving away from the vicarage in a nearby village where the vicar (female) who covered a number of parishs lived.

I never said anything and it was months before anyone found out

Neither of them must have seen fornication as a sin, they were both single at the time

Now a happy couple I believe 😁

Good for you (and him). I’m hoping this goes somewhere, if it’s something you’d like. Please don’t even think about being “loose”. Such a dated and inappropriate view - we should not feel ashamed for having a natural desire and sex drive. Mine went through the roof at about your age (peri-meno and divorce were a great awakening 😉)

You’re both single so it affects no one but the two of you. Yes, the bible preaches against sex before marriage but 🤷‍♀️ Marriage back then was different anyway and often not happening from a place of love, but convenience.

I am Christian and believe in the teachings of Jesus, but I also know we’re all human and no one is perfect - not vicars, not me, not my non-Christian friends, not my atheist friends, nor the agnostics, the baptists or 7-day adventists, and don’t even get me started on some of the Catholic priests.

Just enjoy the moment - it’s no on else’s business but yours and his. He might feel some guilt, but will pray about it, and he might not. All Christians have a very personal walk with God and it’s not for anyone else to judge.

Beware the hypocrisy and gossip of parishioners if you start seeing each other. And I say this as a church-going Christian - I’ve experienced it myself. The judgement from people who profess not to judge (lest they be judged) is disgraceful. It’s often the more mature ladies who’ve been married forever (happily and not) and who probably would have, given the chance. That’s the irony.

You’ve written a very long post condemning other Christians for judging, yet ended your post with a very clear judgement on your ‘mature’ (as you put it) co-religionist women with a huge dollop of tired misogyny, and probably ageism, that they are only jealous as they are gagging for it.

You might want to look at that plank in your own eye.

Nothingl3ft · 31/08/2026 14:43

Oh these comments 🤣🤣🤣🤣 we need the laughing emoji back.

But good for you OP, and no, you're not loose and common, as others have said, if you are then so is he! But I agree with others - details!

Periperi2025 · 31/08/2026 14:43

I (paramedic) once went to a vicars wife having an anaphylactic reaction, colleague gave Adrenaline and IV hydrocortisone, it is not uncommon for patients to get some mild burning or itching - 'down below' particular if the hydrocortisone is given quickly, and it is also a rare but documented side effect that it can cause spontanous orgasm.

Anyway, my colleague made the vicars wife come!!
