Omg I shagged the vicar

BC for this one!!

last summer I moved to a new village with my 2 teen DC’s following my divorce. I’ve made a real effort to integrate into village life and joined a cycling group which I love.

a couple of new members joined a few months ago, one of whom is the vicar from a nearby parish. He’s 39 single. I’m 43.

on Friday we all met for drinks snd I ended Ho inviting a group back to my house. Kids are away with their dad. We all had a few more drinks at my house before people started heading home. There’s been a little bit of flirtation between me and the vicar and it ended up just me and him- we had some more wine and he was being very complimentary and was clearly trying it on. We ended up kissing and I’m afraid that I ended up shagging him on my kitchen sofa. Very out of character for me.

im now mortified that I have to see him at cycle meet this week. My friends think it’s hilarious but im worried he’ll think I’m loose and common. 😲

Hooray!

Your story reminds me of a woman I knew who liked to ham up to an eccentric image, drank far too much and frequently passed out during evening events, and would loudly annouce, in a cut-glass accent, the most shocking comments she could think to say in a polite gathering. A phrase of hers that comes to mind here (accompanied by much eye-rolling), is 'I'm so bored, I could fuck a priest!'

And you went one better and actually did it! I bloody love this story - life is for living and it really made me laugh.

Kudos OP, kudos.

I don't think shagging on the kitchen sofa is at all common. Shagging on the vinyl floor tiles or a laminate worktop might be though, so do be careful.

ChristmasCwtch · 31/08/2026 14:09

Is he hot at least?

Fleabag would be so jealous 😂

Kitchen sofa - a stealth flex from OP there 😂

And that was the bit you noticed?

Ha! It may be a yarn but it's a harmless, funny one. What the hell, eh? (Crosses self and says 10 hail Marys).

zurigo · 31/08/2026 14:10

Well if you're loose and common, surely he is too? Is he nice? Would you like something more?

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 31/08/2026 14:11

Did he look like this?!

Omg I shagged the vicar

It's very off-putting that a man can't summon the self-control to stick to the morals of his religion despite literally being a vicar. It doesn't bode well for his sense of integrity or strength of character, so might be best to keep it as a one-off, or as a casual shag, rather than pursue a relationship.

Charlize43 · 31/08/2026 14:12

Does anyone else think that kitchen sofas are just such a bad idea?

XMissPlacedX · 31/08/2026 14:13

I want a kitchen sofa 🤔

BunnyLake · 31/08/2026 13:49

Haha I thought about that too! Must be a nice, big kitchen to accommodate a sofa.

I bet there is an Aga as well

SurferRona · 31/08/2026 14:16

For a moment OP I thought this was going to be one of those threads with OP pretending to be the protagonist of a fictional aga saga, with PPs rolling on the story arc. Which I never ever get.

This is loads better. 😁😁😁. Good for you 🙌🍑

vicars can shag though? It's priests who aren't supposed to.

OP - can we see the sofa?

godmum56 · 31/08/2026 14:17

well they seem to get plenty in Grantchester

Aga saga 😂

I have a kitchen sofa. But couldn't use it for this purpose as my cats sit on it and would be most upset!
Good for you!
You are not loose or common.
You are single and can do who and what as you please!
However I didnt think Vicars were supposed to have sexual relations outside of a marriage vow.
Unless that's changed these days!

I feel quite certain they're not supposed to do it unless they're married, though? Although perhaps the church has decided God is actually alright with casual sex these days - who knows!

I'm imagining some overstuffed floral beast of a sofa.

CelticSilver · 31/08/2026 14:22

If this is true then he's opened himself to a world of possible CDMs. Idiot.

(I'm married to a vicar)

Dollymylove · 31/08/2026 14:22

Assuming hes not sworn a vow of celibacy, he is allowed to indulge in some rumpy-pumpy 😆
Any chance of round 2? 😍🥰

I’m assuming it’s a large open plan kitchen/sitting area.

UnitaBath · 31/08/2026 14:24

This thread has made me so jealous, not because I want to shag my local vicar (he's about 90) but I really want a kitchen sofa.

Cyclebabble · 31/08/2026 14:24

Go for it. Quite curious, did he take his dog collar off before doing the deed or was it present throughout? Did he live up the surmon on the mount, do unto others as they do unto you?

Neuronimo · 31/08/2026 14:26

Yes I too am more envious of the kitchen sofa!

PoliteGreyDreamer · 31/08/2026 13:54

You have a sofa, in your kitchen?

Is this the stealth brag? That you have a kitchen large enough for a sofa?!

Or the house is really old and draughty and doesn't have central heating, so everything happens in the kitchen where it's warm. I lived in just such a farmhouse growing up, we had a dining room and a two "reception rooms" but they were never used because always freezing. There was a sofa, armchair and TV in the kitchen because it was the warmest place because of the Rayburn!
