Partner unhappy with my outfit choice for a warm barbecue

So im Currently at a bbq with friends, only a few i dont know.
Its really quite warm and sunny, what i would call beach weather. My DP has quesgioned my chice of clothing on this paricularly warm day which consists of denim mini skirt and a close fitting crop top, its alittle sheer with diamantee style lettering to the front.
In heat like this i would normally be in a bikini in the garden.
I think hes well out of order

The outfit could be perfectly fine or make you look like the chavvy version of ginger spice, with her tits showing hence the reason I asked for an image :-) In any case if you talking to other guys makes your partner insecure... you need to change the partner and not the outfit.

Are they clothes you used to wear clubbing as a teenager and you hung on to them? Because the outfit sounds dated and like something I wore out as a teenager trying to look 18 to get into clubs.

I was at a bbq on Friday, everyone younger than me.

i feel the cold and it’s chillier here than it has been lately so i wore a cream lacy cami top, cream pvc trousers and a long line cream cardigan

had it been warmer, too right my denim dress (above the knee) would have been worn

OP it sounds fine. At 55 I would not wear it but my 22y old would. A denim mini sounds more than fine. The top sounds a bit synthetic and warm though, that’s all.

33 is still young! If this is something you feel good in, just ignore him. I love style and fashion and certainly round here (N London), nobody would bat an eyelid at a 33y old in a denim mini and a top with a bit of sparkle. I am sure you look great. Not everybody has to dress the same.

We don't need to see the outfit as you can wear whatever you like and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks including your partner. As long as you are happy and comfortable with what you are wearing then it is fine.

Wear what you want, when you want I say. Its a heatwave and if you feel you look good in it, then go for it.
