We had heavy rain yesterday morning and the grass is already starting to go green.

It isn’t going green here particularly, hopefully it won’t be too long before that starts to happen with all the rain forecast,

DuncinToffee · 28/08/2026 17:22

The only thing going green are weeds

Weeds support wildlife. We've had thunder and lightning plus fantastic downpours. I may have got soaked.

Badvocthebad · 28/08/2026 17:39

My lawn is actually green for the first time since May!
Proper downpours here. More coming for the next 2 days.

A Lizzie Dearden thread on the arson attack on the Jewish ambulances

https://bsky.app/profile/lizziedearden.bsky.social/post/3mu5mobuvzc2s
The people who carried out the arson attacks on the Hatzola ambulances in Golders Green, and the Kenton United Synagogue, have now pleaded guilty

But it is far from the end of either case. Prosecutors allege that both attacks have a terrorist connection because they targeted Jews, but 🧵

No surprises that Oakeshott worked on it and deliberately withheld relevant information.
‘Citizen journalism’ is an excuse to post shit without the burden of IPSO regulations.

Well that’s irritated me.
Denying terrorism because you haven’t bothered to check who’s paying you for arson attacks seems like one method to shrug off serious criminal charges.
And the communities deserve to hear all the evidence.

I’m sure proxies are used the world over and this won’t be the end of it.

DuncinToffee · 28/08/2026 18:17

As pointed out, there are strong similarities with the Starmer house fire.

It looks very easy to recruit people online.

Sunshine and (heavy) showers here but no thunder. Lawn still bay like apartment from the weeds.
Here’s the choir’s performance of our commissioned piece in Chartres Cathedral 8n the presence of the composer (lovely man).

That’s hauntingly beautiful.

cardibach · 28/08/2026 19:09

Thanks @itsgettingweird
It’s a beautiful piece, but quite challenging to learn - and the composer didn’t give us much time!

Notonthestairs · 28/08/2026 19:30

Lovely - you are all very talented cardi

Llttledrummergirl · 28/08/2026 19:56

That's beautiful @cardibach

My lawn is over knee high as we didn't mow it at all this year. We have some beautiful wildflowers, the dog has made tunnels through it and we have loads of wildlife. Most of it stayed green.

It rained here so hard yesterday, that I discovered the conservatory needs resealing where it touches the house, specifically over the back door, it was raining in the house. Thank goodness for hard flooring.

PickAChew · 28/08/2026 19:59

Absolutely gorgeous, @cardibach - DS2 even paused his chatter, grunts and snorts for a bit and declared it "Christmassy"

cardibach · 28/08/2026 21:11

So. Nobody can go on holiday ever in case a snap election is called? Idiots

Notonthestairs · 28/08/2026 21:23

They have a conference to promote - the overall aim is to distract from the £5 million bung and all the other financial investigations. They’ll throw any old crap at the wall.

Nobody cares that Farage used postal votes (did he do that in Brussels too? Easier than turning up to vote)

placemats · 28/08/2026 22:13

Have recently renewed my postal vote for the next three years.

itsgettingweird · 29/08/2026 07:30

We have rain 🌧️

Efacsen · 29/08/2026 08:37

Big spots of rain dripping out of the sky for the last hour or so

Not what I'd call much of a shower - yet

pointythings · 29/08/2026 08:43

I am in Plymouth with DS, lots of rain here.

TemperanceWest · 29/08/2026 08:47

Tipping it down here.
