@Willowkins hope you feel better soon, don’t hesitate to go back and be seen again if you feel worse. Someone ran into me and I only got symptoms of whiplash a couple of days later and it took quite a while to recover.

DuncinToffee · 16/08/2026 09:36

I might stay in holiday mode for a while longer then Pandora 😎

Got loads of washing to do today.

BIossomtoes · 16/08/2026 09:38

I’ll do it again @DuncinToffee. Chill out and take it easy. All suggestions for the next title are warmly welcomed.

"Be alert the world needs more lerts" is my suggestion!

DuncinToffee · 16/08/2026 09:45

I don't mind doing it Blossom.

I am chilling by catching up with the news and MN.

I notice that the anti asylum rhetoric has been upped. We were at Cap Gris-Nez yesterday, too overcast to see England but looking out over the vast blue water it is easy to see how terrifying those small boat crossings must be.

Mantente alerta: el mundo necesita más gente alerta.

les jours paresseux, fous et brumeux de l'été.

Lazy crazy hazy days of summer.

The by-election is over and Reform are attacking disabled people.

The original BBC headline on this parrotted Reform's press release without any push back.

placemats · 16/08/2026 10:12

The phrase 'suicidal empathy', has a sick and sinister tone to it. Very much out of the neo Nazi phrase book. Edit for link.

The MN disablists are crawling out of their festering holes on a Sunday morning to cheer this on.

It’s an X thing. Dreamt up by far right weirdo and repeated by Musk etc.

It is used a lot on MN.

Notonthestairs · 16/08/2026 10:16

Reform need to make a splash to distract from the investigations in to dodgy finances.

Coming after disabled people gets lots of likes from those that believe it will never impact their families.

I could take a pretty good guess by which posters. Hip deep in X shit.

placemats · 16/08/2026 10:18

Oh definitely 😀

DuncinToffee · 16/08/2026 10:21

Despicable Angry

MsJinks · 16/08/2026 10:26

Jenrick is at his best when doing despicable - no wonder Reform were keen to take him on.

I think though that the most saddening thing is the large numbers of folk cheering these abhorrent policies on - sigh.

With the added advice - Don't be aloof, Britain has enough loofs as it is.

Spandauer · 16/08/2026 10:31

Why oh why is Reform still being treated by the media (BBC I'm looking at you) as if it is the official party of opposition?

They have 5 fecking MPs.

SerendipityJane · 16/08/2026 10:32

The alert had nothing to do with GDPR.

Notonthestairs · 16/08/2026 10:33

Reform can’t ONLY announce crapto policies to reduce tax for their sponsors!

And its draws whoops of joy whilst it simultaneously drawing the ire of the Libs.

Very Trump - create an internal enemy, politics of grievance, fan flames that disabled people are ripping off good working people - not that they are using it to access work.

Jenrick must be celebrating a chance to get his face in front of the cameras. Farage won’t be around forever.

cardibach · 16/08/2026 10:38

Moving on to the disabled because immigration is falling so that group can’t be blamed for everything for much longer. It’s almost as though Pastor Niemoller was onto something…

No idea why the smile but it is despicable😔

placemats · 16/08/2026 10:41

All businesses to be required to take on insurance to get their sick employees back to work asap, whilst paying for sickness leave. Sinister.
