I get professional cleaners to do these for me because just no....life is too short.

The whole concept of spraying a device you cook food in with highly toxic chemicals gives me the heebie jeebies. Mine gets a good wipe down and any spills sorted, but I just trust the ordinary heat to take care of the hygiene. I’m not convinced anything further is necessary or wise.

And on London/Kent borders. Oven cleaners are £75+ Sooner do it myself. 👍

That isn't something that anyone would do unless they are a plumber/electrician.

Money well spent. Professional oven cleaners use special solvents not available to the general public, and do a much better job.

My husband is neither but can can adeptly fit new radiators and re-wired the first floor of our house.

I’m on chemo and have decided I’m pretty much going to outsource ALL jobs from now on. A combo of CBA and zero energy. DP is less than impressed; but tough cookies! 😆

Ah, well, good for him! I mean that sincerely. However, I still wouldn't count that as something that is a 'luxury' (for want of a better term) to not do oneself. Not that I think having an oven cleaned or having a house cleaned is a luxury either, but it is maybe less standard than having a radiator fitted.

Both things the air fryer does really well and doesn't use anywhere near as much energy.

I haven't used my oven since I got my air fryer.

My air fryer isn't huge at all, but I do pizza in it. I just cut it into slices first and then cook it.

I'd happily pay £80 twice a year, if necessary, not to bend half an hour every week cleaning the oven and wiping it out every time I used it.

As it is, I don't have to do either because I have an air fryer and never use the big Oven any more

Painting. I loathe painting so I pay a very nice lady to do it for me.

Ovens need cleaning? I just get a new one every 10 years or so.

If you can afford it, go for it, save your energy for recovery and doing the things you enjoy🌷💕

In my previous life I had a lovely man who came twice a year to clean my ovens. Now I have my husband, who loves cleaning ovens, windows, cars and bathrooms. I haven't cleaned in 10 years!

The last owner of my house rewired the place. I was electrocuted by the sink on the first day I moved in. The electrician said the house was a death trap so I had to have the whole house rewired before I could use anything 😮

I have many creative solutions to work out and it’s been shown if you take a break and do something, doing nothing isn’t as effective, but do something that is semi-automatic like washing up or cleaning the oven, they way brain waves work, the creative problem stays active but as you are accessing another part of the brain doing a chore it allows the creative side to think in a different way.

So I use chores as a creative thinking break.

How rude! What makes you think people who can't do plumbing live in 'a bubble'? Would you say that about someone who hired a lawyer instead of represented themselves legally, or went to the doctor instead of self-diagnosing and treating themselves!?
