It seems to be a feature of the hand car washes around here. Filthy broken sofas, grimy windows, one of those massive fleece blankets hanging on the wall with a wolf on it, ancient rugs that look like they carry disease and a cracked mirror for good measure.

What ovens do you all have?! My oven cleans itself.

I don’t mind cleaning the oven but I have a pyrolytic one and the shelves go in the dishwasher.
I have a window cleaner but I am a whizz at cleaning the insides.
I hate vacuuming but fortunately my husband doesn’t.
Having had a decorator in, I will never do it again myself.
Car goes to the car wash for wash and vacuum.

Once a week? I've only cleaned an oven about 4 times in my whole life!

Hand carwashes are often a front for money laundering and modern day slavery.

Oh , I haven't tried putting the shelves in the dishwasher .
I do them in a bag with some ElbowGrease oven tray cleaner but it needs turning over and over to coat all the rungs .
My DW is on at the moment but I will check if they fit .

I have more money than time. So laundry, ironing, cleaning, gardening and DIY are all outsourced. Provides employment, frees up my time.

I can’t believe people use their ovens so much that they need cleaning weekly. I honestly can’t think when the oven was last used. Possibly Easter when I baked.

It’s hard for me to imagine someone not using theirs for months! I roasted a cauliflower in mine and made pizza today.

The best feature of our dishwasher (mid range Bosch) is that you can take out the top basket, fit an extra spray attachment at the back and then put bigger things in to wash. Like the oven door glass which doesn't get completely clean by the pyro setting. It's so useful it was a non negotiable feature when we got a new dishwasher.

When we got a new kitchen we switched from a double oven to two singles and I sold the old one, which was well overdue a clean, which I was open about in the eBay listing. The new singles are now pyrolytic, which pays for itself compared with paying someone to clean them.

Of course, we're now in the era of the air fryer so don't need two single ovens as we only ever use one at a time and that's about once a month at the most. I'm currently looking at the new generation of air fryer microwaves to replace both our aging, on it's last legs, microwave and the cheapy little air fryer we bought to see if we got on with it, which we do as it's used most days. But I need to look into how easy they are to clean, can you get a pyrolytic one or possibly, do the oven cleaning people do air fryers?

Most people use air fryers now, especially if cooking for 1/2 people. I certainly would for roast cauliflower although pizza is one of the few things that need a proper oven unless you have a bigger air fryer.

Am I an absolute princess as I'm reading people saying Windows cleaners and its never occurred to me that this is a DIY option.
Would you have to own the long stick!? Or risk falling to your death out the window.

A tenner a month is a small price to never having to consider this.

I despise thinking of what to eat, Gousto 4 times a week makes it more manageable.

Recently got a handyman in for half a day and he ploughed through all the niggly shit that irritates me about the house. Might make him a regular feature.
