Cleaning the oven.
Cleaning the car.

I get professional cleaners to do these for me because just no....life is too short.

I’ve outsourced vacuuming! We have a little robot that gets up before we wake and trundles round downstairs, mopping and hoovering. Then I bring it upstairs and it does the same. Trundles back to its station and cleans itself. Best money we ever spent.

Im so jealous of this! I live in a converted flat and basically all rooms require steps. I wish so badly I could have a robit hover

thenightsky · 25/07/2026 22:03

I don't understand the robo vac love. I bought one, but it takes me ages to put all the dining chairs up on the table and the bar stools up on the island worktop, move the veg trolley out of the room, etc. And that's only the kitchen. If I let him into the hall, I have to move a million shoes coz he chokes on shoelaces, put the shoe rack outside coz he gets jammed under it. Ditto the hall table with the lamp on with the trailing wire. On and on and on. Hopeless.

I don’t move any of that stuff! Mine just negotiates itself around dining chairs etc.

AwayWiththeGoblins · 25/07/2026 22:05

Any housework.

Mine has sensors and doesn’t get caught on stuff, I do occasionally pick everything up and let it do its thing, but that’s the same when vacuuming anyway.

It fits perfectly under my sofas which is great, but if it doesn’t go under stuff, it goes round it.

And it mops!

BrownWoodenChair · 25/07/2026 22:09

Dye my own hair

hahabahbag · 25/07/2026 22:12

I don’t clean my own car or oven buts it’s outsourced to dh so free (chemicals and water aside). I’ve outsourced nearly all household tasks to him as he’s retired and I’m not!

We do have a window cleaner because it’s a 3 storey townhouse.

desperatemum1234 · 25/07/2026 22:12

You’re lucky you can afford to hire people to do these tasks. Not everyone can.

Yep! Mine’s the same! I love her so much. Yes, I’ve anthropomorphised her.

hahabahbag · 25/07/2026 22:14

@YoQuieroVino I had a robot vacuum and it got stuck within minutes and needed to be emptied every 20-30 minutes, pretty useless - whereas retired husbands can whip around the house whilst your at work, I do recommend them

I pay €12 for a car wash, inside and out. It comes out gleaming and smells amazing inside like cherries

And I get a free coffee while I wait.

I’m with you!

Did yours not go back and empty itself? Mine does and washes the mop pads.

Rarely gets stuck.

My retired husband has plenty of other things he does!

Morepositivemum · 25/07/2026 22:17

I don’t clean the oven regularly but feel I have to step in and say if you had a clean oven cleaning it once a week wouldn’t take up any time!

I’d love a cleaner but ironically mn have put me off cleaners because your house is supposed to be quite clean for a cleaner to clean!!!

I hate washing frying pans. Totally irrational but it drives me crazy!!! Also washing windows!!

I have just left the oven alone. I don't even look at the walls of it anymore. When we bought the salesman said it was self-cleaning (I don't know the technology, but it wasn't, I presume some sort of non-stick) and now after several battles, I just don't care anymore. Life is too short, it can do what the fuck it wants. I do hoover it every now and then.

MrsClattenburg · 25/07/2026 22:19

I have a window cleaner
I'll take my car to to the local car wash 🤨

But I'll always hoover my car yself and will iron my clothes - I like to look nice

SowWhatNow · 25/07/2026 22:19

I highly recommend outsourcing the cleaning of your BBQ. Make it an annual thing, like service the boiler, deep clean the dishwasher, deep clean the oven....

VivIsBlonde · 25/07/2026 22:20

Toohardtofindaproperusername · 25/07/2026 22:01

lol. clean the oven once a week? i find it hard to believe that there are people who want/can be arxxxd to clean an oven once a week.

Well I do!
like I said it doesn’t actually take that long to clean it fully if wiped down after every use, my oven gets used every day and some days it’s used for most of the day

VivIsBlonde · 25/07/2026 22:22

YoQuieroVino · 25/07/2026 21:54

Bloody hell, I can’t be arsed with that. I have never cleaned my oven or my car, both jobs are outsourced. Along with loads of other boring stuff I don’t like doing! It puts money back into the economy.

Why pay someone when you can do it in half a hour yourself??
🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

IdenticalHandTwin · 25/07/2026 22:22

ComedyGuns · 25/07/2026 22:15

I’m with you!

Do you go to the same car wash as me?

VivIsBlonde · 25/07/2026 22:23

catspyjamas1 · 25/07/2026 21:30

Batshit. No one has time for this.

It takes half a hour to clean my oven once a week!
wipe it down after every use to keep it clean!

VivIsBlonde · 25/07/2026 22:24

Bjorkdidit · 25/07/2026 20:05

Lol. Like anyone would willingly do all thst when they can pay someone or get pyrolitic ovens that vaporise grease.

It takes me half a hour to clean it once a week!!!

VivIsBlonde · 25/07/2026 22:24

Loubissou · 25/07/2026 20:09

Once a week? You have time to waste!

No I just like a clean over

YoQuieroVino · 25/07/2026 22:25

VivIsBlonde · 25/07/2026 22:24

That’s half an hour I spend doing something more fun than cleaning my oven!
