I dislike Trump but after today I’ll never forget the dismissal of my family’s grief. I laid my feelings open and all people could do was sneer.

Not one person on this thread has sneered at or dismissed your grief or your family's, derxa. One person mentioned that you were fortunate to recieve an inheritance, then offered condolences when you explained where that inheritance came from.

@derxa, nobody is dismissing your grief. It is very sad that your brother died so young.

That does not alter the fact that you were privileged by inheritance to be able to afford private education for your children. Both things can be true at the same time.

Wrong. One person offered condolences then admonished me for my posts.

Grossly unfair @derxa. I too know the pain of losing a sibling far too soon and nothing said here in any way trivialises your loss.

I didn’t feel privileged. I was deep
in grief. Would you rather I spent the money on holidays.

I’ll never forget those days. After we put our boys into private school our friends turned against us and indeed started horrible rumours about me. As I recall they were Labour supporters. The milk of human kindness eh.

I am really very sorry that your brother died so young. But that doesn't mean your posts or your views can't be challenged. Most of us here will have suffered awful losses or be facing personal difficulties.

This would.be fantastic. Such big, seemingly insurmountable issues need cross party collaboration.

I wouldn’t go after someone who had suffered a terrible bereavement.

It doesn't matter what anyone would rather. What matters is that you were one of the 7% in the UK who could afford private school - and that happened because a horrible event came with a small silver lining.

All across the UK, people lose family members young but don't get an inheritance that will fund private education for their kids, so they just have to get on with state. So yes, your silver lining was absolutely a piece of privilege, however you spin it. As I said, both things can be true at the same time. Life is like that.

Those people were absolute bastards. There are horrible people of every political persuasion.

I have read back on the thread. Nobody went after you. You quoted a post you didn't like but the second half of that post by Saucery was making a key point you chose to ignore in order to show upset.

The amount of money funnelled into Reform coffers via Fiona Cottrell is staggering.

They kept very quiet about their bank account being frozen. Given Farage’s very public fury about Coutts you’d have expected them to have been shouting about establishment scheming and claiming victimisation. Crickets.

I assume that’s because it’s led to a National Crime Agency investigation.
