Working class people don't use buses? Who knew.

SummerPeonies2026 · 22/07/2026 13:24

I honestly don’t know how you can defend them? It’s a global humiliation to have such incompetents running the UK. Burnham literally couldn’t give the cabinet jobs away!

Notonthestairs · 22/07/2026 13:25

pointythings · 22/07/2026 13:21

How lovely to see Peonies coming back with that evidence proving that the data on small boat arrivals and NHS waiting times that we get from the government is all fake.

That is why you came back, isn't it?

Yeah, I don’t see that happening.

TemperanceWest · 22/07/2026 13:27

How is DS getting on @pointythings ?

BIossomtoes · 22/07/2026 13:29

It’s tomorrow, isn’t it pointy? I’ll be thinking of you both and hoping all goes well.

His op is tomorrow, am meeting him in London tonight. We have a hotel for a couple of nights.

And I don't know how you can defend Trump

I haven't seen any humiliation in the international press coverage either.

Yeah, I don’t see that happening.

Well, we will just have to conclude that all they have is unsubstantiated ranting then. What a tragedy.

As a working class person it’s brilliant. £2 a day is £5 a week and £40 a month minimum. It’s small but across the course of the year it adds up and can pay for my Christmas gifting!

Notonthestairs · 22/07/2026 13:36

Speaking of incompetence, notable that nobody is interested in the Clacton by-election beyond noting it’s a waste of money.
Standards Committee investigation waiting in the wings.
National Crime agency probing posh George’s contributions.
Tax avoidant Tice & photocopier wizard Jenrick reported by the Tories.
Farage reliant on podcasts because he can’t answer an interviewer’s questions. Fun times.

Farage has written a letter to the residents in Clacton, nothing about what he is going to do for Clacton but a me me me whingefest about the establishment.

The font he used makes it difficult to read, small mercies

Starmer's issue was that he could not communicate that

^This 💯. It’s what did for Starmer really, which is very sad. We can only hope that Burnham is better able to come his message across.

How very Truss.

Notonthestairs · 22/07/2026 13:47

Maybe Farage and Truss could do a podcast. The Rest is Victims of the Blob. Farage could get Kwarteng on to flog crapto.

pleasedontreinme · 22/07/2026 13:47

The bus fare cap is being paid for by “reprioritising” money that would be sent to foreign nations for climate change.

Surely nobody has anything to complain about with that?

I wonder if the other candidates could organise a town hall debate ? Or rather I wonder if they could invite all candidates to a town hall debate and then call it off when Farage declines.

Its going to make a big difference to my work. I work for a charity and we pay volunteer expenses and sometimes for women to access the service, food banks etc. Takes the cost down by nearly £4 a head per day, which can be ploughed back into helping the beneficiaries in other ways.

I have voted for Labour and conservatives over the years. I don’t mind sharing that information.

Fortunately, Burnham has no mandate and is literally an imposter at this point. Until he has a majority in a GE or will carry little to no authority whatsoever. Starmer wasted two years, soon this nightmare will be over. Sooner if the corruption surfaces faster than the Burnham team can close it down.

Your man is facing a shit load of scrutiny in the next few weeks and months. His honeymoon ended yesterday and now the gloves are off. This country is utterly sick of the Labour freak show.

‘Your man’? Who is ‘your’ in this scenario? Do you think because he’s in t(e thread title it’s a thread to praise him? The thread title always includes the current PM.
Also ‘no authority’ - how do you work that out? He’s the PM. He has the same level of authority as any PM with a big majority (which is why I think he should be radical).
‘Literally an imposter’ - you do t know what literally means, do you?

I know, I know. I’ll stop now.

Of course Burnham has a mandate, to say otherwise is to parrot the uneducated view being thron around by the reform/re store/ renew/ reinvigorate whatever the hell they've called themselves types.

You may not like the way politics works in this country, but lying about how it works is decidedly unhelpful.

Your description of Labour is also vile and disablist which says a great deal about you.

Piggywaspushed · 22/07/2026 13:59

See also 'freak show'. I mean what's with that?

And the repeated blustering that 'no one has heard of' Burnham. Can't help you with your own ignorance, lovey.
