Thank you @placemats. You certainly don’t have a monopoly on misguided posts. It all got a bit fractious all round last night.

And the evidence of how many people are claiming PIP who don't need it and how they are doing it and how much it costs. I tried to engage and learn something but PP doesnt seem to want to share her learning. And I've looked really hard and can't find the evidence she's using to teach us.

Wasn't that something that the ploppy crowd were promoting as something that won't happen so they will take their ball back ?

I mean it's still rearranging the Titanic deckchairs. The whole relation between property, business and local services in the UK is "well fucked" to use a phrase.

But Rome wasn't built in a day. (And also wasn't built by people who said "Rome can't be built", as an aside)

Indeed Mr and Mrs Ploppy were incandescent regarding the demise of small businesses because of the tax. Oh how those dark winter days must just fly by.

Regarding The whole relation between property, business and local services in the UK is "well fucked" to use a phrase. I'm reminded of not putting away fairy lights to adorn a tree during celebrations in Mid Winter by carefully separating them.

The White House is 'deeply concerned' at Milliband's FS appointment.

Good!

For the first time in a UK cabinet, women outnumber men.

Good!

Of course they are.
Fossil fuels pay for their politics.

We tried playing nicely with the US and they've proved themselves wholly unreliable.

Fucking excellent.

We were out at a social event with friends last night, so I could only pop in occasionally to the thread. I'm very glad I couldn't manage more, as I don't think I would have been able to sit on my hands for very long.

And also, thank you @placemats

Any credibility you might have had has gone with your use of a juvenile nickname. And the US is no sort of ally these days.
And that’s my last comment on the matter. Hands under control.

placemats · 21/07/2026 12:30

Ploppy once again incandescent with rage, like a certain 🍊, who often posts raging incoherent nonsense in the middle of the night.

Notonthestairs · 21/07/2026 12:32

God, the constant state of hyperbole must be exhausting.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

SummerPeonies2026 · 21/07/2026 12:32

Ridiculous - where is such brainwashing taking place? The US are important friends of ours, whether you like it or not.

SummerPeonies2026 · 21/07/2026 12:34

I honestly feel pity for so many deluded souls whom genuinely can’t seem to understand even the basics of diplomacy and mutual alliances.

DuncinToffee · 21/07/2026 12:35

Peonies is just yet another incarnation of those 'keeping us on our toes'

They would save a lot of time if they just posted under their regular name.

Ofcourse there is no fun in that.

As if the white house doesn't have enough problems of their own to sort out

Notonthestairs · 21/07/2026 12:48

MAGA are intent on getting their hands on UK & EU politics - flinging money at right wing groups to aid their cause.
All in service of their own investors - fossil fuel companies, crapto and US tech industries.

Anywhere that Trump and Trump JR can make some money basically.

One is reminded of the old saying "with friends like that who needs enemies"

SummerPeonies2026 · 21/07/2026 13:00

Small minds, no aspiration and no work ethic - that is why the UK is stagnating and the US is ripping ahead. This thread is the very epitome of everything that is wrong with this country tbh.
