Peppermint tea on its way @TeaAndStrumpets โ˜•

And not quite Pompeii, but the big one might end up being! This one was a test run ... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Ha yes, I think metro tiles in a bathroom are a bit passรฉ these days. We need some porpoises and the odd goddess!

martha79 · 21/07/2026 12:08

I could definitely do with an osteopath popping round!

Talking of TV, have started watching The Hairdresser Mysteries - very lightweight and fun.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 21/07/2026 12:14

@Swanhilde talk of mosaics & no photos - you are teasing us!

@MewithME at this current time I would willingly lend you bread obsessed dog. She would put you off for life!
She is an absolute menace. Big enough to counter surf & little is safe. We have to turn the cooker off at the wall because she jumps up and knocks the dials on for the hob.
Very clever. Figured out how to open a previous microwave. Then helped herself to the 2lb of aberdeen angus mince I was defrosting for lasagne.
Can open the biscuit tin.
Can open doors.
Noisiest & most annoying dog we've ever had & argues back if you tell her off.
But very loving & cuddly.

MewithME · 21/07/2026 12:18

@CoffeeBeansGalore my old boy was crazy until he was about 8...then just slightly less crazy! He had a thing for rubber and plastic.....made a bee line for rubber bands which the postman used to drop regularly. Chewed buttons off the washing machine. Bin lids....my glasses... I loved him to bits though. We must be mad.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 21/07/2026 12:20

@MewithME she's 7. Ruddy nuts. And yes, we must be mad.
My old boy is 10. Gone blind over the last year. Stubborn old git but very loveable

JewelleryCat · 21/07/2026 13:18

@martha79 I watched that too, it wasnโ€™t bad and it has Daisy from Corrie in it

VikingNorthUtsire · 21/07/2026 14:49

Hi everyone

I fell off one of the previous threads back in March around the time of my FIL's funeral but would like to re-join you all.

Since I last posted, I have been diagnosed with ME/CFS - I have other health conditions but nothing that could really explain the awful fatigue that I have been experiencing. Had the first phone appointment today with our local ME/CFS service, they are offering 4 sessions on fatigue management with an OT. Have opted to do these virtually as the in-person ones are a 45min drive each way and I can't be sure of having DH free to drive me there (suspect that drive + support group + drive will be too much).

Then the phone rang to book in for my yearly MRI for my other thing so it's been a busy day.

Hope everyone is keeping as well as they can and look forward to catching up with you all again.

danglethedingle · 21/07/2026 14:57

Got up nice and early to go to a hospital appointment for DHs eyes, luckily I read his appointment letter to check which bit of the hospital its in, because its actually tomorrow. He has been reminding me for weeks about his appointment on Tuesday, its me thats supposed to have the brain fog! ๐Ÿ˜‚

aliasfrog · 21/07/2026 15:47

Welcome back @VikingNorthUtsire and welcome to the sleepy club.

I keep waking up too early and being so exhausted but I can't fall back to sleep. I've just had a nap and something to eat and im sitting with the massage pillow. I was just thinking my neck hadn't played up for days and then it immediately flares up. So today is a bit of a write off

This reminds me of the appt reminder letter my mum got once, written in ENORMOUS font, about 6 words a page. Oh how we laughed!!

I did some gardening.... I'm very fidgety.. it's probably my body and mind trying to go from work stress to relaxing. I took my book outside earlier and I ended up sorting some pruning out instead. Still on the slow gardening but making good progress. I'm happy to have decided not to try and hire anyone this year. Fed up with unreliable gardeners. Might relent just to get someone to do the shrubs/hedge.

@VikingNorthUtsire good to have you back. I'm sure the diagnosis is a lot to process but glad you have support where you are.

@aliasfrog have you done a name change like @TodayIsabetterone ?

I do still think about some friends from a few threads ago like @Stressybetty. Hope she's ok and everyone we've been chatting with along the way.

Yes i have!! I didn't mean to, I made an alias for other threads but I'm clearly not very good at being undercover ๐Ÿ˜Ž

MewithME · 21/07/2026 17:05

Haha well I'm assuming who you are @aliasfrog ... Maybe it is a great alias and a double bluff๐Ÿ˜‰ I am watching Sugar on Apple TV so the detective thing must be rubbing off

Apologies for my glaring error @CoffeeBeansGalore - photo attached ๐Ÿ‘

Funnily enough @TeaAndStrumpets there are left over bathroom metro tiles in there ๐Ÿ˜†

Had an afternoon nap and head is now a dull ache. I haven't been napping lately as I've been sleeping well but I think the fatigue is cumulative so will be making sure I do going forward. More pain killers for now ๐Ÿ’Š ๐Ÿ’Š

What are you up to today if you have a chronic illness ๐Ÿงต10! Summer Edition ๐ŸŒž
CoffeeBeansGalore · 21/07/2026 18:08

@Swanhilde Thank you!

Looks great. You are talented. Love seeing your creations ๐Ÿ’•

TodayIsabetterone · 21/07/2026 18:14

@Swanhilde thats stunning! I love it, especially the colours.

@VikingNorthUtsire welcome back. I hope the CFS support is helpful.

@MewithME yes Iโ€™m the owner of dippy dog or diddy dog as sheโ€™s a mini sausage!

@CoffeeBeansGalore your dog sounds quite a Character! A whole loaf of bread! Our little sausage ate half of a packet of hob nobs recently... I wasnโ€™t sure if she had or not but she refused a treat which is unheard ofโ€ฆ then when I did a poop scoop later it was suspiciously hob nob coloured ๐Ÿ˜‚ Sorry for TMI ๐Ÿ˜‚

VikingNorthUtsire · 21/07/2026 18:18

That's lovely @Swanhilde

Glad you enjoyed your cruise. I'm going on myv1st one next May, I'm looking forward but nervous about leaving the ship. I'm going with MSC doing a Med cruise stopping at Rome. How far from the port is the main area?

Ahh Im sure youโ€™ll love it. Try not to worry, itโ€™s very well organised and the crew are really helpful especially with wheelchair/ scooter users. Leaving the ship varies really depending on which port as some are closer than others. Thereโ€™s usually a shuttle bus if itโ€™s a distance. We didnโ€™t realise when we booked that Rome is actually quite a way from the port which just wasnโ€™t doable for me so cant advise on that one. There are lots of you tube videos on the various ships/ ports so itโ€™s definitely worth doing a bit of research beforehand. I got my DH to watch one on Barcelona and it helped him work out a plan on what was doable.

ValleyClouds · 21/07/2026 19:25

Rejoice for I have the appointment I desperately needed but not for two weeks

Oioiqueen · 21/07/2026 21:42

@Swanhilde love the colours in that tile, you have quite a talent.

martha79 · 22/07/2026 08:09

@Swanhilde lovely mosaic

@ValleyClouds hooray for your appointment

I'm more mobile today but my back still feels... delicate. And I'm really tired. Was awake from 4-6 then dozed off again a bit. Got a few people collecting things from me today, including a courier at goodness knows what time so am now up but half dozing on the sofa for a bit longer.

TeaAndStrumpets · 22/07/2026 10:40

I have chosen some floor tiles! It was getting quite ridiculous to be dreading it. We did a surgical strike on a tile warehouse just down the road and the nice chap found me exactly what I needed straight away. Back home in 20 minutes!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 22/07/2026 11:30
