Although I did love Peter Ustinov films.

Peter Ustinov was ok but no one can beat David Suchet. I didnโ€™t like Kenneth Branagh at all

martha79 · Today 11:41

David Suchet was wonderful - I think I had a bit of a crush on him as a kid (also Freddie Mercury, I did like a man with an impressive moustache for some reason ๐Ÿคฃ).

Well, so much for restful 36 hours while DS goes to his Dad's. Friend calling in today and now sibling landing tomorrow too ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Certainly can't say no as I haven't seen them for ages but part of me i now thinking I won't have any energy left for my modest little birthday plan ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I sound like a right brat don't I? ๐Ÿ™ˆ

No you donโ€™t, you sound like someone who just wants to put her own needs first for once! Itโ€™s so damn hard trying to conserve your energy! I find around birthdays especially hard actually as thatโ€™s when people tend to just pop in to drop off a cardโ€ฆ not realising that uses up a good proportion of the energy budget.

Nooooo lol

I'm past that phase, by the way, not a great fan of a moustache these days.

Hope you get to save some energy for birthday plans @MewithME and a big happy birthday to you when it comes ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ’

I quite fancy Ted Lasso though... But cannot tolerate these weird thirty something hipster taches. I am proper old and grumpy Gen X-er. I can't abide the weird fashion for youngsters dressing up like they're cosplaying middle age from 1985! ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Big hairy hipster beards. NO.
They must be full of last week's gravy.

Urgh! What I object to is when people with bushy beards who have washed their face in the morning wander back into the bedroom and loudly blow their nose when SOME people are still trying to sleep.

Yes what is that about?!! Iโ€™ve seen a few of DSโ€™s friends ( mid 20s) adopt similar.

When. friend showed me a pic of her DDs new BFโ€ฆ she warned me he had a moustache and floppy hair like a 70s porn star ๐Ÿ˜‚

Great hearing about Ludwig yesterday. When I was so ill last year I couldn't watch much at all so totally missed it or any talk of it. Added it to my wish list.

I have just stopped watching serious crimes because they are too much for my fragile nervous system. A comedy drama sounds about right.

@MewithME I hope you manage to get some rest. It's scary when your booming and busting and have no stability.

Oioiqueen · Today 13:44

@TeaAndStrumpets
Gosh those tablets sound vile. One of my treatment options involves taking 4 at a time of what apparently are tablets the size of horse tranquilisers which will be interesting.

In regards to vaccinations, you can also do it all right and then still get hounded by the GP. Mine keep chasing me and telling me DD hasn't had the full two MMR. She absolutely has because the first I had to go to a different surgery within the group, we were shielding so I was terrified of bringing covid home to my husband and DD threw a tantrum at having her ear jabbed with a thermometer. I've told them several times it was out of area and I can bring her red book with the batch no's in if they like.

@MewithME always the way everyone visits when you need the rest.

Pasithean · Today 14:19

Sitting crying as Iโ€™m in deep pain , vomitting, struggling to keep my feed tube in situ due to the vomitting. I had an appointment at GPโ€™s yesterday but it was a locus and couldnโ€™t help. I rang today as he told me to and I canโ€™t have an appointment.

This sounds terrible. Could you ring 111 for advice. Do you get any visits from a district nurse at all? Is the pain making you vomit or is it something else? Seriously it sounds bad if your feed tube is getting pushed out. Are you at home by yourself?

MewithME · Today 14:33

@Pasithean you need some help to advocate for yourself I think. Is there anyone you can ask to come be with you and help you get some medical attention? So sorry. Sounds awful.

OP posts:
Oioiqueen · Today 15:10

@Pasithean please ring 111 and tell them your GP won't see you. Most hospitals have Urgent Care or Out of Hours attached to them. Really put your foot down, cry down the phone if you need to.

TodayIsabetterone · Today 17:29

@Pasithean that sounds just dreadful. Hope youโ€™ve someone with you who can advocate for you but if not please phone 111 to get advice.

Totally different symptoms but I had the same with GP telling me to ring back if things didn't improve and when I did they also refused to call me back as it was too late in the day. Luckily 111 sent an ambulance straight away as it turned out to be rather serious. So I understand how devastating it is when you need help and you just canโ€™t access it.
Sending you the biggest hug ๐Ÿค—

martha79 · Today 18:11

So sorry @Pasithean, I hope you've been able to see or at least speak to someone this afternoon.

MewithME · Today 18:21
