Is anyone else so regularly in contact with their GPs meds management team that they feel like friends?!

I notice at the pharmacy they don't need to ask my name anymore which is kind of helpful

Did anyone watch the football last night and see Trump practically be pushed off as he wanted to be centre stage? The Spanish were polite about it but you could see they weren't willing to lift the trophy until Trump was out of camera shot.

Yes that was funny!

ValleyClouds · 20/07/2026 18:08

@Orangesandlemons77 They know my name at the pharmacy too but Iโ€™ve recently flounced because they wouldnโ€™t do me a blister pack after doing them 5 years

Honestly I just imagine Jeff bezos with 25 mumsnet accounts writing on those tax threads "you can't tax rich people more, they'll leave!"

Yes he wasnโ€™t taking the hint was he?! Wanted to get in on the glory! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Here I am again 3.30am & wide awake.
I was sound asleep at 2am when the ruddy dog started howling to go out. Little sod stole & ate a loaf of bread earlier. I knew this would be her stomach griping & couldn't ignore it.
And to rub it in dh is happily snoring away ๐Ÿ™„

So tired ๐Ÿ˜”

Chickadee26 · 21/07/2026 04:36

In bed still. I woke with headache and shoulders/back hurt so took pain meds made tea and am just waiting for it the meds to kick in. Then I'm going to make 3 banana blueberry cakes to use up our fruit, and wash kitchen floor.
Or I may just get up and sit in livingroom, after meds kick in.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 21/07/2026 04:37

Just banana cakes, but I add blueberries to it. Yummy combo. It is supposed to have lemon frosting but I just dust the top with decorating sugar.

martha79 · 21/07/2026 09:55

Morning all. Blueberry and banana cakes sound lovely!

My back has seized up overnight - I can just about get myself around the house but I can't stand up straight. Was meant to have a friend visiting today to build some flatpack but have had to cancel. Day on the sofa for me (I tried lying on the floor but got myself a bit stuck ๐Ÿ˜ฌ).

Naughty dog! I suppose at least it will go through eventually. DD's JRT ate some tinsel off the Christmas tree once, got away with it luckily but had sparkly poo for a while.

Oh no! Just when you've got so much to do! Hope it feels a bit better soon.

I think we all need a resident osteopath for our bad backs! I saw mine yesterday and had a painful session but my lower back is loosening up now. My neck is work in progress but a lot better.

Woke up at 5 am but didn't do anything useful! Went straight back to sleep and still feel groggy. I do get reactions after my osteopath treatments, glands feel a bit achy then it settles. I think part of it is the neck massage affecting my lymphatic system, which presumably is not tip top at the moment.

Swanhilde · 21/07/2026 10:26

Woke up with a cracking headache this morning - when will I realise that using the big muscles in my arms has the same affect as using those in my legs??! ๐Ÿ˜

So it's a day of rest for me, and the mosaic looks good if a little rustic ๐Ÿ˜†

Kettle's on - take it easy those also in pain ๐Ÿ’•

Also welcome to @ChippyDinner and well done for an inspired username ๐Ÿ˜

I had a great nap though in the afternoon so I am hoping I can fall into my summer balance of naps and progress!

Right going to read the rest of your posts now chatty bunch โ˜บ๏ธ

Peppermint tea on its way @TeaAndStrumpets โ˜•

And not quite Pompeii, but the big one might end up being! This one was a test run ... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

TodayIsabetterone · 21/07/2026 11:33

Iโ€™d love a decaf tea please @Swanhilde and so pleased to hear you had a lovely time at your daughters graduation.

Sorry to all those in pain today or anyone awake at silly o clock. It makes my dog waking me at 7 by jumping on the bed and licking my face til I woke up seem quite civilised ! Hope everyone can rest up.

Think my holiday has given me a bit of confidence back as I joined DH on a dog walk earlier. I used the scooter as Iโ€™m wary of pushing the walking yet but actually was able to venture a bit further so dippy dog had a good walk. Trying to chill in the garden but next door have workmen with a digger in so a tad noisy.

MewithME · 21/07/2026 11:43

Ah of course @TodayIsabetterone you have dippy dog ๐Ÿถ

I am missing having a four legged friend just now though I know it's too much for me.

Hello!! Iโ€™m back ๐Ÿ‘‹
Iโ€™m checking in with a new name to manifest better days for all!

Had a fabulous holiday which despite all my anxiety at going away so soon after a stroke, I did it, loved it and have come home feeling rather proud of myself for pushing outside my comfort zone.

Managed to get off the ship a couple of times which was much more than I expected to manage. DH was determined I was getting off in Italy and went into the port town with DD in the morning to work out what was there and see if it would be mobility scooter friendly. He then found a restaurant and came back to the ship and got a taxi to get me there so I could eat pasta in Italy as Iโ€™ve never been! So that was rather lovely.
I mostly just rested, relaxed and ate far too much food ๐Ÿ˜Š None of us wanted to come back so I think that says it all really.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise. I'm going on myv1st one next May, I'm looking forward but nervous about leaving the ship. I'm going with MSC doing a Med cruise stopping at Rome. How far from the port is the main area?
