Aw rest up tonight and tomorrow is another day. It will happen as it always does somehow but the thought of it can be a bit stressful. It will be worth it once you're there and can relax.
Though I hate unpacking more, think itโ€™s taken us most of the week in fits and starts!

MewithME · 27/07/2026 20:36

My typos are out of control ๐Ÿ™ˆ

I am going to stop and rest. Pester you all tomorrow. Be good on the other boards you cheeky lot ๐Ÿ˜†

๐Ÿคฃ at the names thread.

I'm also in bed. Fighting the anxiety this evening about getting everything done this week and trying not to be completely wiped out in the process. My landlord is fussing around exactly what date I'm moving out for things like electricity and council tax - I've been saying for weeks that I'm aiming for 31st but there's a chance it might run into the weekend if I have a couple of rough days health-wise.

TodayIsabetterone · 27/07/2026 20:57

Just remind yourself how incredibly well youโ€™ve done @martha79 and that a little bit of anxiety is perfectly normal in the circumstances even without a chronic illness thrown into the mix.
Donโ€™t worry about the landlord as long as heโ€™s kept in the loop. Heโ€™ll know as soon as you know! Rest up too and just keep slotting in regular rests however short.
Take care and @MewithME too.

Thanks for the giggles @FuzzyPuffling on the names thread ๐Ÿ˜ƒ and Granite @TeaAndStrumpets ๐Ÿ˜ฌ had you been browsing kitchen worktop finishes by any chance?! ๐Ÿ˜‚

You got me!

FuzzyPuffling · 27/07/2026 21:19

Sleep tight all.
Thanks for being so lovely.

TeaAndStrumpets · 28/07/2026 06:48

Morning all!

We've got an old friend visiting, he's lived abroad for years so it'll be a good catch up. He's quite eccentric and always full of anecdotes so he'll do all the talking!

The baby list is funny because people are startled by quite well known names like Nuala, but don't turn a hair at stones. You need to up your game @FuzzyPuffling they are dafter than you thought.

Just remembered when DD2 was born DH rang to inform my parents. Umfortunately my Dad who took the message was slightly deaf and misheard so my Mum put the wrong name in the local paper ๐Ÿ˜‚

ViciousCurrentBun · 28/07/2026 06:57

I got back very recently from an almost 3 week holiday in our motor home. Went to the coast, cities and the races. Spent 2 days basically not moving when I returned home and when away we had a couple of days of just reading sat on sun loungers.

Iโ€™m back to voluntary work. Very short shift tomorrow. DH is going away to his Mumโ€™s for a week of DIY and sorting stuff out for her. Pace wise itโ€™s the ideal holiday plus I always have a comfortable bed that I know wonโ€™t mess up my back with me.

Highlight was swimming in the sea and a seal popped up about 30 foot in front of me bobbed about for a couple of seconds and then was off.

Amazing! That sounds perfect, and such good weather too. Having a guaranteed comfortable bed, and going at your own pace must be wonderful.

Glad your thread is still up @FuzzyPuffling there was one DH baby name suggestions I posted on, but MN obviously not hard enough and it's gone!!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 28/07/2026 09:04

Morning all.
@ViciousCurrentBun Wow how lovely!
Rather wet here. Was absolutely hammering down at 7am. Opened the back door for mutley & she just looked at me in disgust! Ruddy dog does not like getting wet. She did dash out quickly in the end but the face was urghhh ๐Ÿ˜

TodayIsabetterone · 28/07/2026 09:12

Morning all, hope we can have peaceful days.

Enjoy a catch up with your old friend @TeaAndStrumpets hope all the chatting isnโ€™t too exhausting.

@ViciousCurrentBun sounds like a lovely time and how fab to see a seal so close! Iโ€™d love that!

Another hot one here so rain sounds most welcome @CoffeeBeansGalore though obviously your dog disagrees! Dippy dog is exactly the same, just point blank refuses to go out if itโ€™s raining ๐Ÿ™„I have to pick her up and set her down at the far end of the garden and if Iโ€™m lucky sheโ€™ll do a wee before dashing back in but usually just gets me wet and grumpy while she just makes a run for the door! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Another hospital appointment today, physio for my arm/ shoulder but only local at least. Arm was really painful last night and needed painkillers again. Iโ€™m obviously using it more than I was when away but also the difficulties in fitting a canula on Sunday have left a massive bruise all down my arm so I think thatโ€™s probably contributed somewhat. Itโ€™s a very dramatic black/ purple today! I canโ€™t see me managing much at the physio at all really so hope heโ€™s gentle!

"Obsidian" has got NO likes. I am heartbroken.

Very envious of your rain. We've had virtually none for weeks and everything has gone crispy. Including me.

martha79 · 28/07/2026 09:31

Morning, sounds like a lovely break @ViciousCurrentBun

Actually slept ok last night and woke up about 6 which felt quite civilised. Still packing and shifting things, although currently lying on the bed trapped under a cat who is stretched out across me.

Also envious of rain - it's meant to be getting up to about 27 here again.

Morning all. Taking DS to the dentist and hoping to collect his birthday cake soon. She's a bit erratic, the cake maker. Last year was the same... wasn't sure it was all sorted until I actually collected it.

I suppose I'd better get dressed. I've been very tired. Slept ok ish. Woke several times but managed to doze late so I've made up for it.

One of the names on the other thread was Brick so they just weren't as subtle as you. I suggested another clay based name as Golem but didn't see the replies as the thread went poof.

@martha79 Well cats are always the boss, so if cat says rest, thrn you must obey! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Hope you can get done what you need to with some rest time thrown in. You really are doing amazingly well.

TodayIsabetterone · 28/07/2026 09:56

Good luck with both the dentist and the cake @MewithME

Never mind babies, we are naming a house! We are replacing a derelict cottage which had an awful name with a new build on the same spot. So far we've used the old name for convenience but want a fresh start. Trying to get info from the right person at the council but she's "not at her desk" and hasn't rung back yet. That's a very long coffee break ๐Ÿ˜„ They are always very leisurely at the new council, I've noticed, but really nice once you get hold of them. So just waiting....

FuzzyPuffling · 28/07/2026 10:13

Naming a house is exciting!

" Obsidian's Rest" Pleeeeeeaseeee!

Can you tell us the awful former name?

Swanhilde · 28/07/2026 10:16

Morning! Earlier than usual Sainsbury's delivery this morning, so I've baked a courgette cake! Fridge is now well stocked and the smell from the oven is delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹

No other plans for today. Temperature is ramping up as we're due another 30+ tomorrow. No rain here either, I'm just watering the veggies and a couple of plants I've recently put into the ground. The rest is up to them. I guess it's a good test of what can survive our new climate ๐Ÿ™„

Anyway, I'm sitting in the garden with a coffee before it gets too hot. May do some more glueing later โ˜€๏ธ

Have a restful day all ๐Ÿ’•

FuzzyPuffling · 28/07/2026 10:17

We are off to Lidl. I have to get anything needing the car done this week as DD1 is borrowing my car next week to go on holiday. We are a one car household so will be carless. Hope there's no emergencies. ๐Ÿ˜ง
