But looking at what you've just posted, I'm thinking - are you familiar with the Green Party? I mean, if you think this is crazy, there's a hell of a lot of it about and it's been about for quite a while.

I try not to think about it because honestly, the level of insanity out there is too scary.

I have been around or interested in Politics for over 30 years and I cannot for the life of me understand what Andy Burnham has done in his first week to move Labour from 19%-28%! The mind boggles at the stupidity and ignorance of the UK electorate. More In Common: Labour 28% Reform 24% Conservative 22% Lib Dem 12% Greens 8%. What seems to have happened is that Green Voters have flocked back to 'Labour' which in itself is frightening has to what Burnham is Planning to do to keep the nut jobs who would vote Green.

However, in some-ways it makes the situation more obvious to Nigel Farage and Kemi Badenoch. This, being for this country to exist in anything like a normal functioning Capitalist state, they have got to work together otherwise we are truly 'screwed' with no way out other than to become a third World Basket Case of a Country..

I think as a country we're already in basket case territory.

Kemi and Farage occasionally seem to sing from the same hymn book, and some sort of alliance between their parties could be the way out of the current madness. They need to talk, but neither has shown any willingness to work together, AFAIK.

I certainly wouldn't vote Tory if I thought they'd go into a coalition with Reform. Absolutely no way. I'd be left without a vote if that was mooted (unless we had a decent independent, which we never have since I've been here).

You Gov has a far more even poll than MiC.

What I do think we're seeing is the more moderate Reform supporters (those who are more like the right of the Tories, rather than those who are closer to Restore) being turned off by all of the financial shenanigans.

Plus Labour were always going to get a 'Burnham Bounce'.

What happens in 3 years is yet to be seen, but all parties have the chance to win more voters round (as well as lose them!) before then!

Burnham's first big test will be the Budget, I think. Let's see what happens then (please god do better than Reeves)!

Oh, there's a thread on the local Facebook Page about Binface's Clacton manifesto. It's rather amusing!

I've been on these threads since inception but I don't recognise you. I name change but I recognise posting styles.
No I've not done a deep dive into the green party except to know they are nothing to do with so called green issues anymore and their leader wants to do somethng with breasts.

My post was about how these things get linked up and strongly suspect it's the unions !

Just call me desperate. I have no faith in Burnham; he reminds me of a newly elected head boy basking in his elevated status.

I'm going to grit my teeth and watch his interview with LK (probably with the whisky decanter in near reach) to see if anything he says will alter my view of him - bearing in mind anything approaching common sense will fly in the faces of his militant backbenchers and be unanimously down voted.

I want Burnham / Healy to do better than Starmer / Reeves for all our sakes. Shame so many backbenchers are thick as mince and a fucking liability!
