A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I think the water based ones are
still okay, I think. They pair up with heat pumps well with their low and slow warming method, so that would be a serious own goal.

Electric underfloor heating that you tend to get in bathrooms and are cheaper and more convenient to install if you aren't remodelling from the ground up, are for the chop.

I think he is just punishing the whole population for laughing at bacon-sandwich gate.

Has Clare Coutinho responded yet? She must wonder how many batshit ideas she needs to counter at this point!

Haha so true. What did Labour voters expect? That he’d forget bacon-gate

He who laughs last

But fear not, the government thinks that we can save a whole £28/ year by not having these luxuries.

I wonder if they ever stopped to think if £28 would swing the mood in their favour? Are they aware of how much upfront cost that people are prepared to pay to have them in the first place?

Al Carns and Wes Streeting both sticking the boot in today. Streeting on X pointed out that the govt won't fund defence, yet today they announce £4.5bn for walking and cycling.

Ed is a sandwich short of a picnic! What's wrong with him ffs?

He can keep his mitts off all of my appliances. Dh says he's going to bury me with my vacuum collection. 😂
I love cleaning videos. I'm a stress cleaner so it calms me down. I haven't seen the brush with mould remover, but I think I want one.

I'm a very quiet person so my definition of loud tends to be a lot different than everyone else's 😂

Now picturing "the name's Morgan, Morgan McSweeney". I suppose if you got the right actor.... I mean, Andrew Scott's first line as Moriarty was "is that a British army Browning LA91 in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?"

written down that looks incredibly clunky, but Andrew Scott made it work so well

sooooooo well <fans self>

Sorry, as you were.

Edited

I once had an utterly filthy dream about AS as Moriarty…..

<blushes at the memory>

I love watching house cleaning/ organising stuff. 😁

My algorithm has delivered me to a really snooty Australian who is super particular about how things should be done. He was having a fit because you should fold your dunah (sp?) down 40cm, and not 15cm, like an utter heathen and lay pillows flat and not on an angle, like a student. Sometimes I think the algorithm knows me better than I know myself.

What’s going on? Healey just left to a no for obviously needed funds.

Oh you’d “love” the palaver in Cambridge. They’ve just spent several million quid making a road for pedestrians/cyclists only.

Honestly driving through the city is a nightmare, particularly in October when you’ve got a whole bunch of new 1st year Uni students taking on the roads en mass on their bikes with not a decking clue where they are going or what the rules of the road are 🙄😤

'England's first cycle street' opens in Cambridge

The £2.4m project includes the road being painted red and footpaths being widened.

Wow no wonder @BIossomtoes is visiting here so often..they really hate Starmer judging by their new thread title.

Upstartled · 12/06/2026 18:43

Maybe they are hoping that Starmer will sacrifice himself for the greater good of his companions and return as a Starmer the White?

They keep planning / building cycle lanes here. It's batshit. Though a Labour councillor did proclaim that she wanted to remove cars from our town! Idiot woman.

Doona. Aussie for duvet!

I just had never seen it spelt and thought I'd give it my best shot, being too lazy for Google.

I think it's like Hoover, in that it was a brand name that then stuck to the general item. If my memory serves correctly! Paging @EasternStandard to explain! 🤣🤣

Sorry, still working.

I heard something about it on the radio this morning but just rolled my eyes and ignored most of it.
Announcement of £4.5bn to be spent on safer walking and cycling routes. The timing is epic when you consider John Healey and Al Carns resigning over lack of funds for defence yesterday. Wes Streeting very happy to point that out on X.

I still have PTSD from when I drove DC to Cambridge for an Open Day and that was 10 years ago! Utter nightmare even then …

I had a dream last night that Bollard resigned and said he'd be gone by the end of the week.
Really disappointed when I woke up and realised that it was only a dream.

Hoping it's a premonition.

Although Labour also thought they had Gorton and Denton in the bag.

Very happy to read this paragraph

It is understood that deputy prime minister David Lammy and chief whip Jonathan Reynolds are on a list of ministers likely to be sacked by Mr Burnham, who pointedly promised to end the suspension of rebel MP Karl Turner, a vocal critic of Mr Lammy’s reforms to jury trials.
