We are a kind and welcoming group supporting each other in our daily tasks to organize and declutter and stay on top of all that needs doing. We share our accomplishments and brain dump our to-do lists in a friendly chat over coffee manner. 😊☕️

You must be living in the same country as my DS @Mumtobabyhavoc …same coastline too. He said yesterday that it was due to drop to just +2 tomorrow for the start of your bank holiday weekend. I think it has been up in the mid/high 20s.

He wasn’t too happy!

WideOpenBeaches · 14/05/2026 23:09

^^ I’ve now GOT to go to the car laundrette if only to add to the painterly gallery unfolding on this thread 😉

I managed to dig deep to get some motivation to vacuum before I took the kids out to the playground after dinner. I really should have thrown a load of laundry in, too. Mañana, right? 😊

I am still here! Thanks @Mumtobabyhavoc for starting the new thread. Won't bore you with talk of deadlines and late nights but am hoping to have turned a corner 🤞🤞 and will dedicate today to neglected life and work admin tasks. At a minimum -

  • some laundry
  • paying deposit for community centre for D's birthday party in July
  • checking family member's travel arrangements next month for their trip to London
petalpower · 15/05/2026 15:45

I thought we’d had the last lighting of the wood burner for the season but it’s just so cold here so I’ve given in. Currently 11C but the forecast is for 24C here this time next week!
Still not achieving very much - motivation has definitely gone AWOL.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 15/05/2026 16:56

Hi Single! Nice to see you here. 😊
Petal, are you okay? 💐

It's grey here again and 9c which is surprising. Single digit temp! It was 27c on Tuesday. My app is showing that it is raining. I'm going to check....
Roads are wet, but no rain coming down atm. It's in the forecast all day, though.
I still have laundry to do and the rest of the items I was moaning about yesterday. 🙄

Hello all

@WinterFrogs - I did manage to get back to bed for a while yesterday. Not really sure what else I did all day!

Today is my birthday and I spent the morning taking DH to have a tooth extracted under sedation. I mooched around some shops while waiting for him but didn’t see anything I liked and he was done much quicker than expected. Usual day otherwise. Did go to the garden centre this afternoon and bought the plants for the beds along the patio.

I think it’s takeaway pizza for dinner for DS and I as I think DH is on soup.

Happy Friday all.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 15/05/2026 17:31

Happy Birthday Peridot. 🩷🌷

Happy Birthday @Peridot1 🎂

WinterFrogs · 15/05/2026 20:51

My magnificence of the week has caught up with me. Full of headache so I had cheese on toast and then went to bed.

petalpower · 15/05/2026 22:38

Happy birthday @Peridot1 !

petalpower · 16/05/2026 12:16

I’m ok thank you @Mumtobabyhavoc . Just getting fed up with the weather being cold. I’m itching to get into the vegetable
garden and get all my plants out of the greenhouse and into the ground but there’s still a risk of frost for another couple of weeks.

FourSeasonsLobelia · 16/05/2026 12:27

Happy Birthday @Peridot1 !!💖

Hope you are feeling better today @WinterFrogs Thanks

I have done an Old School Classic Daily Project. Set the timer for 25 minutes in the garden. I trimmed the dead fern fronds at our entrance. Then watered the ferns. Then I cleaned up the hanging baskets, and re-potted them with sweet william and rehung them at our door. I put down some fertiliser as well in pots a d brought in the little lilac coloured pots I had sitting empty ready to clean for another use.

RunningKatie · 16/05/2026 15:13

Belated happy birthday @Peridot1 - hope you had cake!
Today I've hoovered under the kitchen units as we've had to remove the plinth to unplug the fridge freezer to reboot it. Fingers crossed the warning light now goes off and normal coldness will resume. I hate buying any form of electrical appliance.
I'm currently trying to pay a bill but my laptop is on a go slow. All appliances clearly conspiring against me today.
One week to half term, eldest is off school now for work experience.
Happy weekend all!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/05/2026 15:26

You got a lot done in just 25 mins Lobelia!
Glad you're ok Petal.
Hope your headache is gone Winter.

I did a blitz yesterday while everyone napped:
washed floors, took out garbage and recycling, cleaned the bathroom, washed some walls and did some work for Havoc's activity. I let the kids sleep too long as a result which meant they didn't get to sleep last night until around 11:30pm and me well after midnight. We're all up now, I'm on my 2nd latte, Havoc has eaten, Baby just got up and we'll be getting ready to head out quite soon.
It's just 8c and mostly cloudy. The rain is supposed to hold off. Hoping it will for the next few hours, at least.

I impressed myself @Mumtobabyhavoc ! To be fair, the entrance to our door is quite small. Smile

I am hoping to spend about 25 minutes a day in the garden. Its been sorely neglected over the winter.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening, and @Mumtobabyhavoc and @Aria99 a great day.

SingleThreadJoiner2 · 16/05/2026 19:57

Wow @FourSeasonsLobelia that is a lot!

Happy birthday @Peridot1

I managed two loads of laundry yesterday, and today I talked to my relative about their trip and looked into a fiddly return of some sinks. We've been out all day and only got back a couple of hours ago so trying to be organised and unpack bags etc straight away rather than leave them hanging around.

I want the weather to change too!!!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/05/2026 22:33

Take the win Lobelia! 🙌

Hello! That's an impressively used 25 mins @FourSeasonsLobelia! I am trying to do the same in my garden. I am definitely making headway.
I was wondering why Flylady did an article on crisis cleaning as 'many of you will be hosting this weekend'.

I hope you have a good one @Aria999 and @Mumtobabyhavoc 💐

I would like it to warm up a little, mainly for @petalpower and @Peridot1 sakes. But not too much, please and thank you 🙏

I have a day of gardening and reading planned. I have my nose stuck in a Jojo Moyes novel at the moment.

I hope you all have a lovely day ☕️ 🍰

FourSeasonsLobelia · 17/05/2026 11:18

Hope everyone is well today. How are you feeling @WinterFrogs ?

I bought another 2 hanging baskets- already pre-filled with flowers (geraniums mostly). So that's a total of 7 dotted around our entrance. I also bought two euphorbia to dump in a bare patch. I'll do that later as part of my 25 minutes today. I still have 2 sweet william plants to pop in somewhere as well. Not sure where yet. Then watering.

I'm tired though. I could not sleep so finally gave up around 4 am. So now I am quite tired. I have ironing to do as well.

Hope everyone has a very good day.

Peridot1 · 17/05/2026 12:34

Hello all.

Yesterday was some laundry and a bit of a clean of the kitchen surfaces. Not much else.

This morning was a village clean up/litter pick followed by tea and sausages in wraps on the village green. Nice sunny morning for it.

This afternoon will be more gardening. Hoping to finish the beds by the patio in the next few days.

Have a lovely Sunday all.

FourSeasonsLobelia · 17/05/2026 16:40

What are you putting in your beds @Peridot1 ?

I have two pots on either side of our front porch. They struggle every year and I usually remove whatever is in them (last year I tried ferns, the year before topiary bays). Problem is the entrance is quite dank. But i am looking to put something a little hardier and preferably with light-coloured flowers that might survive more than a year. Garden centre visit tomorrow I think.
