A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour* *government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I read it too and had a chuckle. RR was very Lady Bracknell 🤣

Exactly.

Imperial and yet brittle…

EasternStandard · 05/05/2026 13:25

Kemi was fantastic answering re rising antisemitism.

Love her and it seems even on the more usually Labour cesspit of anti Kemi stuff on here she has supporters.

A thread running at 65% yanbu she’s excellent, good on her. On here that’s hard. Takes work and clarity.

There will be a stampede of Starmer fans rushing to that thread to vote YABU now. 😂

Probably 😂

The first few posts are usually anti from Labour but then people say she’s great.

Can you imagine Starmer going toe-to-toe with a heckler?

His lips would purse, and those piggy eyes would narrow with a look of barely-restrained fury, as he desperately tried to think of a pithy comeback.

Not what you would call quick on his feet, is our Rodders.

Popularity polls shows Kemi leading. Looks like some people only found out how dangerous ZP is this week. Better late than never.

...and our esteemed PM is rated even lower than ZP. Friday will be fun (evil grin).

He is rather lower than ZP. But sometimes these polls afford an artificially high score to those who are less well known. And, for a frame of reference, 40% of LibDem voters cannot recognise an image of Davey.

So, Starmer is more unpopular, but I think ZP will get there as he gets more cut through.

Yes better late than never. That's quite a dip for ZP. Good.

Yes. I love that she tackled the heckler head-on, completely unflappable.

Are you in a ward with local elections @Pacificsunshine?

Yes, I will be voting on Thursday. My ward is safely conservative. Very unusual these days.

I was just wondering. There are Labour supporters up and down the board saying that voters are as thick as shit for considering Labour's performance in government when selecting a local candidate, and here are the Labour canvassers making a case for their local candidates by showcasing their role in government. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sarahconnor1 · 05/05/2026 16:55

Labour canvassers round here are making their case by telling everyone how awful Reform are. Nothing about what they stand for or plan to do. Just Reform = bad.

Reform and Independents are canvassing heavily in my part of Merseyside. Labour are, as always, taking voter loyalty for granted.

Are your indies affiliated with Your Party? Ours are (so aren't truly indie, IMO).

I've not seen a canvasser for a while. Not that I'm bothered. I do wish they'd fight a positive campaign (these are our plans for when we win), rather than a negative one (everyone else is shit), but hey ho.

Are you south or north Sefton, I forget?

Sarahconnor1 · 05/05/2026 17:54

Im south (ish) and the indies are affiliated with your party. If i recall it's not something they shout about on the election leaflets

Thats all Labour ever do. It worked to be fair when they did this to the tories at the GE.
Now its Reform. Its all they and their supporters ever talk about.
This is why Labour can't govern, they are in permanent opposition mode.

Here Plaid banged on that reform were going to dismantle the NHS. Reform did robustly refute that statement.

They bloody don't. I'd seen it mentioned before, then they posted a massive spiel on FB which neglected to mention it, so I had to go hunting for the info. Knew I hadn't dreamt it!

SapphireCasino · 05/05/2026 23:24

Optimists and idealists should have no place in practical politics.

Do you think I should run as a candidate with that? I wonder how I could turn it into a catchy slogan 😂

Sarahconnor1 · 06/05/2026 08:07

Polanski is such a fantasist

He will be, say or do anything if it gives him a sense of power, position and fame.

Parsley4321 · 06/05/2026 08:18

Polanski on Radio 4 now total liar twat
Nick is knocking him into a cocked hat hope he never comes out again

WaffleBomb · 06/05/2026 09:54

I'm glad he's finally getting some proper scrutiny. Vile individual.
