A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour* *government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

The KB thread is something else; so much twisting the narrative and reliance on semantics, despite the AIBU result being heavily weighted in favour of KB.

Roll on Friday.

Good grief. The misinformation being spewed on here by the left!

FB is a hoot this morning gangs of plaid supporters pouncing on the local press articles, memes galore. They're going to get carpal tunnel syndrome 🤣

Think it'll depend which way things go. The democrats in USA haven't piped down.

Unhappy lot. They need to look at their own party, its leader and their failings.

Upstartled · 06/05/2026 10:35

It's very weird out there, that's for sure. Still, it's heartening to see the poll.

EasternStandard · 06/05/2026 10:37

It is, I’ve not seen a yanbu vote like that on here. It’s usually pretty scathing.

EasternStandard · 06/05/2026 10:42

Hmm at some of that stuff, style seems familiar.

Right? In a climate in which pretty much all politicians are held in contempt, it's kind of cool to see we aren't complete outliers in thinking that Kemi is offering a sensible approach that isn't couched in hand-wringing and cowardice.

Only two more days to go until gale force 10 vitriolic attacks on the electorate for not doing as they're told. 🍿

It’s hard for some to hear on here of course as Labour still have many supporters and the thread descends into personal attacks rather than looking at the failings of their own party.

But focus groups are the same. Times Radio covers it and she does well, Starmer’s are dire.

They never do though do they. Just had a peek out there and it’s still all focussed on Reform and how happy the left will be if Reform don’t do as well as expected. I just want to ask how they think it has come to pass that the party they voted for is about to be decimated in local elections and the reasons behind the rise of Reform. A poster did in fact have the audacity to ask this on a thread recently and got the predictable response “because people are thick”. Says it all really.

WaffleBomb · 06/05/2026 11:06

Thankfully, the Greens haven't bothered campaigning where I live. I was getting worried that I'd have to vote Labour to keep them out 😂

😁 I'm glad that horror show didn't come to pass. Happy voting.

They’re polling the same here! I’ve decided to vote Kemi anyway. Ik she’s not running etc but it’s a show of support.

You're lucky. We have a circular drive; yesterday a car came through the gates and stopped right outside our front door so a woman with pink hair could shove a couple of Green Party leaflets in the letterbox.

Our local council has never been anything but Conservative-led, but I suppose you have to give them points for trying.🙄

zurigo · 06/05/2026 12:16

Kemi was really excellent on the Today programme interview yesterday morning here for anyone who missed it: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0jv1v09

I particularly liked the bit where she was questioned about the problems facing Jews in Britain and the interviewer (Nick Robinson?) started waffling on about Muslims and she called him out for 'whataboutery'.

ZP was bloody awful this morning in the same 'leaders' segment, unsurprisingly. That man really is contemptible.

Same.
I've known my local tory candidate for years, so happy to give them my support. Also happy to show support to Kemi. I think Reform will clean up here though.
For the first time ever, dh and I are both voting conservative. I never thought I'd see the day! 😁

Thanks for this. Will listen to it on my lunch break. Kemi has had a good week in the lead up to these elections.

Have you seen this from the 'NEXT PRIME MINISTER' IN WAITING ?

Just desperate from the joke.

Thanks, I'll watch this too.
