Oi you !

The culture I live in, it is the opposite of what you say. It is the women who do the "playful hits".

If you're a woman, then lucky you. You get to do the 'tapping' so no need to LTB!

I'm wouldn't mind giving the SNP more than a tap. What they have done to undermine standards in Scottish Education deserves a North Korean firing squad.
On Health. 😡Where I live has one of the worse records for hospital waiting lists in the country. So bad that it's 2-3 years for cataract surgery, 6-12 months for an MRI. Because this area also has people with oil £££, many go private to get their cancer diagnosis, as once this happens, the NHS takes over. Even the private hospital here has a waiting list for most areas of medicine. They're making so much dosh that they've installed new robotic machines that do surgery and their own MRI scanners.

After leaving O&G, I worked for a gov't funded NGO. The wastage was so engrained that when I told colleagues what I was doing to get a more efficient return on funds, their response was that it wasn't part of their job description. I reminded them that it was tax payers money we were spending and we were all taxpayers. I was extremely lucky to have had a manager, who had also come from the private sector, who supported me.

And don't start me on Scottish Enterprise, that ole boys' club.😤

I need our drinks trolley 😆

Slàinte. May all yer spuds be golden wonders, if no, Kerse pinks will dae just fine.

TBH, 1/4 a century since I voted in Scotland. I was always SNP, so I am being tribal.

The ferry fiasco with Fergussons is something to behold. I doubt even Trump could have fucked up that bad. And it's still not over. It's Peel Ports as well. Whittaker owned. One of the most hardest business families known.

A ferry a decade late, triple the price at least, a nationalised shipyard nobody will order from, and the ferry is too big for the harbour it was supposed to serve. And they ordered 2 of the same ship.

Trumpian.

Is the King mentioned ?

Or Obama ?

DH and I could adopt you..?
Y'know, if your parents don't mind. 🤔😁

LOL
Farage wants to get rid of indefinitive leave to remain, restrospectively (equivalent of removing the green card from those who already got it), so not sure being adopted will safe any of us foreigners. He is going to trump Trump's ICE. Maybe he can call it DRY ICE or something cool like that.

TemporarilyCantDoMyself · 08/05/2026 16:26

So when Trump says it's a love tap he's admitting to being an abusive fuck?
Like the grab 'em by the pussy moment, except in public, and while actually POTUS?
Does he think no-one sees or something?

Well yes - but no one seems to care about this repulsive behaviour at all - baffling.

MushMonster · 08/05/2026 16:44

He does not "love tap" Melania, does he? Or any of his previous wives? They appear to have lots of confidence, much to take that shit from anyone.

I had never heard of the phrase either.
Nothing surprises me though. And I do not think Trump understands himself most of the time either. I think he knows very well where his and his friends money is going, though, to the cent! The rest is smoke screens, to keep us occupied.

It is truly baffling. As if females, non-whites, non-billionaires, didn’t exist and even if they did exist, they have no voice whatsoever, wherever in the world.

Love tap has to do with power -as @AcrossthePond55 said, what today we call part of toxic masculinity. I think Marla Maples could have had a love tap or two, but not the other two wives. Trump probably thought she had trapped him into marrying her.

Spandauer · 08/05/2026 18:30

IIRC Ivana was allegedly violently pulled around by her hair by him after she said something about his failed hair transplant/scalp reduction (?). She also accused him of rape at the same time but she later retracted the accusations. Late 1980s I think.

Yes, I remember something of the sort. Isn’t she the same one who he is suspected of killing and burying on a golf-course (allegedly)?

MushMonster · 08/05/2026 18:42

Oh wow! I had never heard that about Ivana! Likely, he is a domestic abuser, to add to his CV...

Wipeywipey · 08/05/2026 19:20

Ah, I love this thread! I go out and get hit with Love Tap Shack News and instantly had a WTAF moment and came here to vent. Currently only able to see MN on my phone and ppl tagging isn't flagging for some reason (can see on laptop then get error code when I try to see), so I am sorry if I have ignored anyone.

Ducking Trump.

I remember reading that he was arrested for beating up Marla Maples in the 1990s, who he cheated on Ivana with and subsequently married (Epstein was a wedding guest). Before they got married. I remember at the time wondering why she had married him after he beat her up (I was very young and naive in the early 1990s) The charges were dropped and she's bound to silence by a pre-nup.

The whole sh~tshow makes me utterly sick, but "love tap" has nauseated me beyond belief. The domestic violence perpetrators' watchwords.

No allegedly about the burial. Apparently 'designated burial grounds' are exempt from taxes and there has been speculation that that's why she was buried there. Other sources have said he'd been planning a 'private cemetery' on the grounds since 2007. Either way, I'm sure there was money for him in there somewhere.

UAE going its own path again, slips hidden oil tankers through Strait of Hormuz

https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/hungry-sell-uae-slips-hidden-oil-tankers-through-strait-hormuz-2026-05-07/

SINGAPORE/LONDON, May 7 (Reuters) - With their location trackers shut off to avoid Iranian attacks, the United Arab Emirates and buyers have recently sailed several tankers loaded with crude through the Strait of Hormuz in a bid to move oil bottled up in the Gulf by the Middle East conflict, according to industry sources and shipping data.
The volumes are a fraction of the UAE's typical exports before the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran but they demonstrate the risks the producer and buyers are willing to take to free up oil sales. The other Gulf producers - Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar - have either halted sales, deeply cut prices to entice uninterested buyers or are shipping only through the Red Sea in the case of Saudi Arabia.

logicisall · 09/05/2026 03:37

These latest sanctions could make Trump's impending visit to chat with Xi, who likes him very much, even bigly much, 'interesting'.

The U.S. Treasury on Friday announced sanctions against 10 individuals and companies, including several in China and Hong Kong, over accusations they aided Iran's efforts to secure weapons and the raw materials needed to build its Shahed drones and ballistic missiles.
The Treasury move, first reported by Reuters, comes days before U.S. President Donald Trump plans to travel to China for a meeting with President Xi Jinping and as efforts to end the war with Iran have stalled.

In a statement, Treasury said it remained ready to take economic action against Iran's military industrial base to prevent Tehran from reconstituting its production capacity.
Treasury said it was also prepared to act against any foreign company supporting illicit Iranian commerce, including airlines, and could impose secondary sanctions on foreign financial institutions that aid Iran's efforts, including those connected to China's independent "teapot" oil refineries.

UAE are defo doing some sort of 5D chess here. And it seems to be working for them ?
