A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Just another revolting attempt by ZP to change the narrative to work in his favour. He doesn't want empathy towards Jewish people.
Those who agree with him need to take a long hard look at themselves.

They should but likely won’t. That now deleted thread had many in support of ZP.

Bloody concerning really given the terrorist threat level.

I didn't know the thread had been zapped. Yes very concerning how some eagerly danced to ZP's tune yesterday.

TBH I don’t really care if Rayner went overboard on the rosé. We’ve all done it, and PMs with a human side aren’t a bad thing (Starmer might be more likeable if he wasn’t a thoroughly unremarkable and dull, but unpleasant, man with a stick up his arse.)

I do care that Rayner’s thick, a loudmouth and a hypocrite.

It’s back now I think, there was a particularly bad set of posts mnhq were looking in to.

I hope the police don’t feel demoralised by armchair experts and critics, if someone looks like they could be concealing a device they should do what they can. Unarmed it’s going to be more difficult.

On rosé Ocado just alerted me to some saving as I was typing, how timely. I don’t actually like rosé though.

@WaffleBomb "How is getting pissed and walking into a door a good advert to be the next PM of a G7 economy?"

I haven't read the article, but is this something that happened at a work event? If it happened in her personal life, I would have nothing to say. But work is different.

Interesting take on how Starmer might be planning to deal with the fallout next week.

It was in one of the Commons' bars.

Yes I read those posts lastnight. So disgusting, I couldn't find the words. Hope they've been deleted at least.
Agree with you on the police. Hopefully they can see that the vast majority support what they had to do.

She was in the Strangers bar amongst MPs and journalists.
The article explains the setting better than I can, so better to read it.

I haven’t followed this very closely but feel Conservatives above Labour is quite something compared to all the other elections.

WaffleBomb · 01/05/2026 13:41

Looks like Wales will vote FABL 😁

EasternStandard · 01/05/2026 13:50

Come on Lib Dems jump over that straggly Labour 😬

Upstartled · 01/05/2026 13:50

I wonder if the implied turnout will be as low as the forecast 49%?

boys3 · 01/05/2026 14:45

Labour 5th in Wales! How the mighty have fallen.

I’m sure I read somewhere earlier that the Welsh Labour leader ended a campaign speech by inadvertently urging voters to vote Plaid🤣

It’s probably an optimistic figure - there has not yet been a Senedd election where turnout has reached 50%. best so far was 47% last time out in 2021. the very first one back in 1999 was the only other higher than 45% (at 46.%).

People of Wales are very angry. That may improve turnout.

boys3 · 01/05/2026 15:25

Would be great if that turns out (sorry couldn’t resist) to be the case @justasking111

isn’t this election going to see a big increase in Senedd Members, plus a new voting system as well. Presumably both designed to benefit the ruling party but now likely to completely backfire?

Roll on next Friday! Presume that is when counting takes place in Wales rather than overnight after polls close?

Upstartled · 01/05/2026 15:36

Yes, a motivated electorate would be great. And it would be interesting to see how presumed apathetic non-voters could shift the dial. I see Anthony Slaughter is trying to put an acre of distance between ZP and the Welsh Greens.

WaffleBomb · 01/05/2026 15:37

I can't imagine a Plaid/Green/Labour coalition. 😬 <shudder>

Perhaps the turnout will be higher this time, now that there's a good chance of removing Labour?
