A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

The Tories will do badly. The lie of the land is against them for now. In three years time things could well be v different if we have, as looks a racing certainty, a horribly failed Labour government and Reform become local council pariahs like all parties do. Plus the second thoughts that voters get when handing power to newbies.

I can easily foresee Labour having just a few dozen MPs after 2029 and the Tories and Reform being close together in numbers as the biggest party.

WaffleBomb · 30/04/2026 12:17

Thats really interesting, thanks @Upstartled.

I assumed Starmer would retain more support from women than men, but I've probably based that on the MN Starmer groupies. Most women I know like Kemi, even if they're not fans of the tories.

Yep. She gets Labour going that’s for sure.

I just read the AR stuff, it’s interesting that some will go for those without more than GSCEs as ‘ill-informed’ on some threads and switch to the opposite depending on politics.

That thread is a mess.
Bullies complaining about bullying.

Yes, is being uneducated a good thing or a bad thing? It seems they can't decide.

It really is. If the same person moves their X on voting their education level becomes something to admire or put the boot in.

That chart below and this discussion reminded me of that C2DE convo that happened ages ago, that was a laugh. Someone could tell or something.

I‘m guessing the incoming locals are getting to Labour acolytes.

Looks like they're about to start attacking Sunak's wife. She's obviously fair game.

Yes that was a funny thread with the C2s etc.
Reformdar activated 📡😂. They can spot them from a mile away 🤣🤣. I miss twisty.

I wonder why these people go to. Anyone remember MyNameisX - she said it exactly as it was. Also disappeared.

I’ve recently name changed too as everyone else seems to be!

I hope Lego didn’t get banhammered, she rightly called out some bullying.

It takes me a bit to get changes, there’s some Labour changes that are obvious as they are overly invested in a few people.

Yes, I always find it amusing on any Brexit thread that supposedly left wing people claim that their social circle consists only of graduates so naturally they don’t know anyone who voted for it!

SapphireCasino · 30/04/2026 13:29

Does anyone know when the council election results will be announced? I presume most of them won't count overnight.

Upstartled · 30/04/2026 14:40

I don't think it's too late into Friday, mostly done and dusted by the afternoon, iirc.

EasternStandard · 30/04/2026 15:03

Polanski and Starmer not doing well atm. What a mess, they can battle it out between them for bad associations.

Happy to back Kemi amongst all that noise.

justasking111 · 30/04/2026 15:05

I'll admit I've been twitching about our Welsh elections next month but Labour are so far down the toilet even an invented pandemic can't save them now.

Upstartled · 30/04/2026 15:14

Yes, next week will be huge. What happens in Wales and Scotland will be really significant but you get the feeling that it will be what happens in London that shapes how and when Labour will boot Keir out. Lots up in the air.

Unlike a general election, the results will not be obvious by the following morning. Some, including a few of the races in London, will be declared in the early hours of Friday, May 8, but for most — including Scotland and Wales — counting starts only later the same morning, with results in the middle of the afternoon.

I'm absolutely staggered by the number of absolute idiots on this forum. I hope they all come rushing here with their terrorist sympathising and it doesn't reflect the proportion of muppets in real life.

SapphireCasino · 30/04/2026 16:21

@WaffleBomb thank you

From putting together a few posts on X, I have a feeling there's more to the story with regards to the Golders Green attacker. I'll wait till a news outlet says anything. It would certainly explain the police response if correct. Not that it needs explaining.

Anyway, I'm well aware that we've got all sorts of dodgy types roaming the country and it will be the fault of many governments but I have a feeling it will cause a big reaction.

SapphireCasino · 30/04/2026 16:31

It seems to be out

Essa Suleiman stabbed a policeman in 2008. And stabbed the dog as well.

I can't believe I've just typed that.

I thought I heard the officers shouting "fuck you" and I thought, they know who he is

Did anyone else hear that?

I know. It beggars belief doesn't it. Poor terrorist.
The walk among us, and they're going to vote Green.

Starmer has praised the bravery of the officers involved, and called out the hate marches with their racist slogans.

He sounds lovely. He was also on the prevent programme.

I didn't hear fuck you, I heard drop the fucking knife, but you may have seen a different clip to me. I'm avoiding other SM today.

I think I'm going to retreat from the wider board. Just deleted a post that have me outright banned rather than the run of deletions I've had in the last few hours. <And breathe>

Has anyone seen that Milliband is gunning for dryers and leaving us with those shit ones that take hours to dry a bed sheet?

Yep, not worth it.

Yes I was reading about Red Ed banning dryers this morning.
We had dryer-gate on this thread a couple of weeks ago. I was panicking because my trusty old vented dryer died. I had a mountain of laundry, so it was defcon 1 in our house. 😂
I couldn't find a suitable replacement, or consenser dryer. I had heard awful things about heat pump dryers, but a pp recommended her heat pump dryer to me, so I bought the same one that afternoon from currys.
I love it tbf, panic over. 😂😂
