A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

What really bugs me with that Times piece is his arrogance and ego.
He thinks he's got a silent majority of supporters hiding in a cave somewhere willing him on. There is no recognition of how much the public loathe him. He doesn't even promise to do better in future.
He isn't saying that he should stay in post because the replacement could be worse, (which is the only line of defence I can give credence to), he thinks he should stay because of his own magnificence.

@DenizenOfAisleOfShame yes the strike is still going on

And that is directly connected to the so-called equal pay discrimination case.

I think this is a combination of very badly crafted laws over the years and the fact that all the publicity has described it as an equal pay issue

Obviously, the courts have found in favour of the claimants but I'm not convinced by it, from what I can understand of it. I'm really wondering if I got it wrong.

For a large organisation to be left open to being sued about pay bands, bonus structures, etc from the past, does not seem like a brilliant idea

how far back are we going to go? This is a really weird precedent.

I think it’s a structural issue with the public sector going back generations. Also the fact that Unions are very good at getting good pay and conditions for male dominated type jobs. They seem less energetic at obtaining the same in female dominated jobs. Funny that. So for example if you are in the works dept and you get called out to change a lightbulb you will be paid some huge overtime rate and maybe get a bonus too. Female equivalently skilled jobs are paid much less and don’t have the overtime or bonus available.

Despite probably having lots of highly paid EDI people in HR, the council failed to recognise, accept or doing anything about the long standing pay inequalities in their own organisation.

Ugh, I made the mistake of reading the Trump threads and now I feel like I need another shower. So many posters saying assassins need to shoot better, even suggesting crowdfunders for training. What the fuck is wrong with these people?

Yep, he's very much a 'shitweasel' isn't he.

Still trying to sell himself as the last wall of defence against Reform too. No recognition that he is the cause rather than the cure.

If that's a recent picture of him he's looking gaunt

Yep. The non violent left huh.

On Starmer’s ego agree with Waffle, it’s stratospheric based on nothing.

They would do better to have someone else just because it wouldn’t be that excruciating level arrogance.

Urgh. That's revolting.
There was similar on here after Charlie Kirk was murdered. The BeKind brigade seem ok with political violence. Its shameful.

Yeh, looks like it was taken at the school visit mentioned.
He looks like shit, but still won't resign.

The posts on the thread about the latest assassination attempt on President Trump highlight a similar level level of cognitive and morality of to that of a wolf !

Sadly many people who continue to advocate for this Government and remain staunchly Labour are in their droves posting the most outrageous and idiotic things.

Those, so called 'nice' educated middle class people are the most hateful, indoctrinated and fanatical, who should have both death to 'Trump' and Labour to I die ingrained on their foreheads.

Two more days to the Ukrainian trial, media blackout and just a judge to hear evidence. Wonder if there'll be any leaks

TheNoWord · 26/04/2026 09:36

Apparently it is all faked as Trump was getting bad press. He has had nothing but bad press since he was elected!
Yes, this is the usual mob who tell us to ‘be kind’ but many of us suspect they would put us out of our misery if they could get away with it as we are bad people for not agreeing with them and don’t deserve to vote.

EasternStandard · 26/04/2026 09:41

They really do get in a SM frenzy over wanting violence. If it did happen as they hope for things wouldn’t improve for them, it’d probably be worse as the backlash would be there. And Vance would react.

Where did you hear that? It is to be a jury trial at the Old Bailey AFAIK.

As far as I know, pending trials can’t be written about except in a very restricted way. Otherwise the media run the risk of contempt of court by influencing a jury. I wouldn’t conclude there’s a blackout beyond the usual.

Was in the press a while ago can't remember which paper. Do you have a link to details of the trial.

I’ve never heard of this newspaper and don’t know how reliable it is. But it reports that the trial is at the Old Bailey with a jury.

No, I don't, other than what has been in the press already. There is no mention of it being any different to any other court case. I did find this article which mentions it, but not exactly mainstream:

The trial starts tomorrow.

THREE MEN TO FACE OLD BAILEY JURY OVER FIRES AT STARMER LINKED PROPERTIES - Labour Heartlands

Britain's most politically charged criminal trial of the year opens at the Old Bailey on Monday 27 April, as three men face a jury over a series of arson

Yes, I don't have any time for the bloke, but it's really odd that people seem to think that they are the intended victim of these assassination attempts. 😁

So, he arranges to get shot at? I mean people have been killed by stray bullets that have just missed him. The crazy kid who wrote messages on bullets and goodbye letters and was then turned in by his own family...are these diversion tactics too? Or, just this one?
