I think the trick is to get them into a logical corner that they can't get out of without a massive obvious contradiction. And then they switch threads and repeat all the same stuff as before. I am tripping up a fair bit though, so hey. It's a case of learning what rabbit hole to follow them down I think.

Am struggling to see past this as more calling wolf. But at same time can't see how he gets out of this without cooperation from Iran,and why would they right now?

The reason the US totally and utterly fucked up the 1979 revolution (i.e. not having the faintest idea it was happening and then not realising the danger to their embassy) was because they had zero interest in the politics of the region. After all, why does a master care what his slaves get up to ?

It seems that have basically either repeated the same mistake or (here's my money) they never learned from it in the beginning.

It's clear that whatever you may think of a vile, repressive theocratic regime, it is certainly able and effective. If they are capable of doing strategy then they can continue to run rings around the US (the rest of the world is watching) and completely reshape global politics forever in a way no US administration has ever been able to manage.

Right now, the lack of knee-jerk reaction from Iran suggests they really are aware of this.

The comparisons with North Vietnam and the Viet Cong are so obvious as to be embarrassing.

The latter part of the podcast is about Reform and the C money, and I'm happy to say is now out of date as the Labour govt banned it and capped donations from overseas Brits last week. The ban is temporary, pending detailed regulation.

Particularly amusing is Zia Yusuf throwing his toys and admitting banning C money and overseas money constitutes "choking off" Reform funding. I'm not sure he realises what he just said there!

The reports I am seeing seem to show the Israelis and the Americans bombing the living daylights out of Iran.

They must killing thousands of people.

Not only, but leveling the country in such a way as to tie them up for the next thirty years at least, which presumably is part of the plan.

But - hope is Iran winning or doing well in such a senario? is it like Ukraine - in that, if it is still standing it is considered in some way, victory?
