I only lasted until I heard the words 'Never before in history....' and felt my teeth clench and my shoulders tense up. Whenever he utters "Never before in....." it's always followed by self-aggrandizing lies and bullshit and I thought "I really don't need to hear his shit, I have to hear it about every damn day on the news" so I changed the channel. The only person on the planet suffering from Trump derangement syndrome is, checks notes so step forward, Donald Trump. And it's not curable. Nor is it an actual syndrome. Unlike dementia and Alzheimer's.

I do despair a little at the lack of imagination from our continental cousins. Especially La Belle France which has spent a millennium perfecting ways to irritate English speakers.

It's not too late. but I wouldn't refuse the US use of bases or airspace. But I sure as hell would charge for it. Plus publish a timetable of what days and times it is available to the US. My reasoning being that it would prompt more US media discussion about how the US can't something the US "doesn't need".
