Flew out to our Villa two weeks ago.. had to nip back home for an appointment on Sunday... flew back Tuesday. Flight was 3 pm. Two women mid to late 40s travelling in pjs . One set from Tu..l know because l have the same .. other womens was shein or temu.. it didn't look like they were running late or anything.. both had full face of makeup and hair styled lovely... no slippers but one in trainers.. other in sliders.. my companion told me they had seen women before flying in pjs. What are your opinions?

Bit grim really.

elizabethdraper · 12/03/2026 09:32

Who cares ?? They werent harming anyone

Ineedanewsofa · 12/03/2026 09:32

No but I often travel in loungewear which is basically outdoor pjs! Cannot stand sitting for hours in rigid/tight clothing

xogossipgirlxo · 12/03/2026 09:36

I wouldn’t, but I wouldn’t travel in jeans either. Something as healthy medium for me. Comfy joggers and hoodie.

KimuraTan · 12/03/2026 09:36

Did you fly from “oop norf” 😂- just kidding..

I travel regularly by plane (long and short-distance) and wear clothing that doesn’t flutter around or might get caught on seats or under my feet, always wear trainers that are comfy but solid. I would never travel in sandals or sliders in case of an emergency landing. It doesn’t matter what the clothing looks like but if you had to get off the plane by evacuation slide you’d struggle in the ensuing panic with inadequate footwear and thin clothing will rip. Each to their own..

han6729 · 12/03/2026 09:39

I find it unnecessary when parents dress their kids in pyjamas at evening classes and the like even though I understand the logic, there is NO justification for adults wearing pyjamas outside!

Villanellesproudmum · 12/03/2026 09:39

Does the place they were bought from make a difference? Might help me make an informed opinion. Are you suggesting higher end PJs might be acceptable.

(No I wouldn’t wear PJs but don’t care what others do)

Teenagerantruns · 12/03/2026 09:40

I sleep in leggings and vest top so l suppose no one would know? But I wouldnt travel in obvious pajamas. But it wouldnt bother me what other people were wearing..

user1494050295 · 12/03/2026 09:43

Only the ones in first class they provide you with

wishfulthinking25 · 12/03/2026 09:44

Hm, I wear loungewear all the time not sure if I’d wear pjs on a flight maybe maybe not but I wouldn’t judge people that do

mylittleyumyum · 12/03/2026 09:44

I personally wouldn't, I do travel in flip flops though when I'm heading to a sun destination. I've at times travelled in the closest outfit I can get to pjs without them being pjs.

If I were to travel business class, I'd 100% be getting changed into the jammies provided.

CurbsideProphet · 12/03/2026 09:45

I've seen some summer "co-ord" outfits that look like pyjamas, but I wouldn't wear them out in public.

Lomonald · 12/03/2026 09:47

How do you know "shein or temu" what does it matter what people wear they were not naked and probably comfortable.

JustAnotherWhinger · 12/03/2026 09:48

i think if plane toilets had more space then folks would change, like those in first class do.

I’ll be honest though, seeing someone nip into the airport loo and come out in comfy pjs just before we boarded a long flight did make me wish I’d thought of it. Comfy clothes just aren’t as comfy as pjs

nameobsessed · 12/03/2026 09:53

I couldn’t care less what anyone else is wearing, scrunch bum leggings, pyjamas, a fucking dinosaur costume. I don’t pay much mind to what other people are doing.

My personal flying outfit is comfy jeans and a pretty top and shoes. My best friend is more an oversized hoodie and booty shorts person but I could see her rocking PJs. Our other friend doesn’t wear anything but gorgeous dresses including on travel days.

DisconnectedDrainpipe · 12/03/2026 09:53

I never said it bothered me.. each to their own.. as for mentioning where they are from.. was just to make people aware they were definitely pjs because l have the same .. and shein and temu often have the same products. I wear comfiest clothes on the plane..just over four hours is quite a long time..
To the person asked if l was from the north.. yes 👍! 🤣 leeds/ Bradford airport. Lol.

Bit grim really.

What's grim about wearing clean and comfortable clothing on a flight?

No different to wearing joggers and a hoodie really is it?

Chasingfairies · 12/03/2026 09:56

I find it weird when people are all dressed up to go on long-haul flights. Or even wearing jeans, must be so uncomfortable. I’d wear joggers and a hoodie on a flight but nah I wouldn’t wear PJs. I just think I’d look like a dick and everyone would stare at me!

it is different. Just stick some leggings on, they are outdoor clothes.

see, i couldn't do the flip flops or sliders - climbing up stairs / travelators, through airports/ luggage carousels etc seems like a foot injury/Trip/Slip'/fall waiting to happen! :D

MaidOfSteel · 12/03/2026 10:00

God no! It’s lazy & slovenly. Not even bothering to get dressed shows they’ve no respect for themselves and others.

Tenniswhites · 12/03/2026 10:00

Absolutely not! However I wouldn’t judge someone else for doing so.

I do wear loose fitting comfy clothes which probably don’t look too dissimilar.

Villanellesproudmum · 12/03/2026 10:01

Im impressed people wear flip flops. I’m always freezing cold of flights and have to wear thick socks but I’m always bloody cold.

Mamadothehump · 12/03/2026 10:02

I flew to and from New Zealand recently so obviously a full 24+hrs of travelling and did not see anyone in pj’s on the way there or back!
