Flew out to our Villa two weeks ago.. had to nip back home for an appointment on Sunday... flew back Tuesday. Flight was 3 pm. Two women mid to late 40s travelling in pjs . One set from Tu..l know because l have the same .. other womens was shein or temu.. it didn't look like they were running late or anything.. both had full face of makeup and hair styled lovely... no slippers but one in trainers.. other in sliders.. my companion told me they had seen women before flying in pjs. What are your opinions?

Yes, I've worn them. But I took them off when I woke up, I didn't go parading through the airport in them. They were just navy blue jogging bottoms and a t shirt though, they didn't have teddies on them!

Yes I wouldn’t have them on in the airport but amazed that some people also think it terrible to wear them on the actual plane when everyone is expecting to sleep and they are encouraged to in business/first. But then again I don’t dress to impress at all even though I travel mostly business so find it odd that there are so many style/beauty threads on outfits for flights.

No but I often travel in loungewear which is basically outdoor pjs! Cannot stand sitting for hours in rigid/tight clothing

We love loungewear aka day time pjs in this house!

PrincessOfPreschool · 12/03/2026 16:29

I think it depends if they looked like PJs. I wear some PJ bottoms to work which look like many other trousers I have (including pockets!). You would only know they were PJs if you had a pair the same, otherwise they could just be comfy trousers. I don't wear them with the top they came with, just other non-PJ tops!

I also have some TU pyjamas which I would love to wear out as they look so good on me and are a really cool cotton, perfect in hot weather - black tie dye, so not particularly pyjama looking. I dare not though 😔, especially after this thread! Plus I really do love wearing them in bed.

AnAppleAWeek · 12/03/2026 16:31

If they can’t be bothered putting clothes on I don’t see why the airline should bother letting them on the flight.

BauhausOfEliott · 12/03/2026 16:32

My opinion is that I don’t give a monkey’s what anyone else wears on a plane, or where they bought it from, or whether you have a villa.

i have a thing about “ performative travelling” e.g changing into PJs, walking around with your inflatable pillow etc etc. Yes it’s a long journey.. we know we are on the same flight. Sit down, shut up and don’t faff about when it’s time to get off!

I recently went to Australia Business Class on Emirates. The flight from Dubai to Oz is over 14 hrs. They give out PJ's and some of the men do change into them.

However they are a bright light blue and very clingly on the bottom half. There is a bar at the back of the plane and these two men who were propping up the bar - I can never unsee it. Your eye is drawn to that area of their body.

No, it’s grim. Just put some joggers and a Tshirt on.

MaggieBsBoat · 12/03/2026 16:37

Long haul perhaps. Always loungewear at least. Absolutely no point in being uncomfortable on a plane.

MummyWillow1 · 12/03/2026 16:45

Sounds like they were possibly flying to a wedding or something and didn’t want to crumple their outfits.

Meh, as long as they are clean and covered up why would it be any of my business.

begonefoulclutter · 12/03/2026 17:07

How very common.

Acceptable only if the wearer is under the age of 6 and it's a night flight.

canisquaeso · 12/03/2026 18:19

I probably would rather go with loungewear.

However, I also wouldn’t wear heels or very restrictive clothing or drink during a flight. I’m very paranoid about the possibility of accidents lol (rationally I know it would make little difference).

Oh my God. How revolting.

My opinion is that if you are that rich you should have a better grasp of English grammar. Does that make me sound judgemental? Bit like your post then.

xogossipgirlxo · 12/03/2026 09:36

I wouldn’t, but I wouldn’t travel in jeans either. Something as healthy medium for me. Comfy joggers and hoodie.

Yes this, I'm flying long haul soon and planning on travelling in black joggers and a sweat shirt. Basically pyjamas but not pyjamas.

It’s the WEARING of the neck pillow before you even check in that kills me 🤣🤣🤣

C152 · 12/03/2026 19:32

No, not even on a long haul flight.

blythet · 12/03/2026 19:36

sounds harmless!

personally I wouldn’t wear ‘pyjama pyjamas’ but I would wear loungewear or a matching co-ord
of wide leg joggers and a top.

I recently got a loungewear set from Tu that literally looked like a loungewear or jogger co-ord. The only difference was the section of the shop they were in.

was the only reason you knew they were pj’s because you and them and had bought them out the pj section?

TicklishMintDuck · 12/03/2026 20:40

Maybe they were flying back n forth from their mansion and didn’t have time to ask their stylist what to wear.

Usernamenotav · 12/03/2026 20:46

Wearing pjs is cringe. But not as cringe as making a mumsnet post as a disguise for a brag 😉

Usernamenotav · 12/03/2026 20:48

MaidOfSteel · 12/03/2026 10:00

God no! It’s lazy & slovenly. Not even bothering to get dressed shows they’ve no respect for themselves and others.

Edited

I doubt they were the pjs they rolled out of bed in, so i don't think it's a case of being too lazy to get dressed.

Wishbone436 · 12/03/2026 20:49

This CANNOT be real 😱🤣

TheHateIsNotGood · 12/03/2026 21:24

When I used to fly long haul regularly many years ago I'd change into a kaftan once we were settled in the air and change back prior to landing.

Ronathediva13 · 12/03/2026 21:26

You have a villa.
Noted.

As long as they are covered and behaving themselves so they aren’t a loud or annoying I wouldn’t care. It impacts me in zero ways.
