That's according to BBC news. Can't say I'm sorry.

If that changed tomorrow they will still find a a way to get at someone.

Apparently W. Couzens is shit scared that he will be next.
I bloody well hope so!!

Oh yes I hope so too, but then him living in constant fear is good too.

I'm conflicted about this, because murderers should not kill each other really, but then I don't care in the slightest when they do.

Perhaps it has nothing to do with the prison system being overstretched and underfunded but more to do with staff turning a blind eye with people like Huntley and letting justice take its course.

Or the fact that our prison system is broken, how can such dreadful violent prisoners be in a workshop and have access to a a metal pole, the prison houses the countries worst offenders who will never be released or rehabilitated, they need constant supervision, shackles and solitary.

But I do hope the prisoner who killed him isn't charged with murder, he did society a favour, money saved and a monster who would have in days gone been hung no longer than a month after conviction is finally dispatched.

I think hes a whole lifer as well so nothing to lose. I imagine a cheer went up in the prison when news of Huntleys demise filtered through
The screws perhaps had a small discreet smile to themselves as well

Muffinmam · 07/03/2026 10:19

The families of his victims finally got justice.

I am not “celebrating”. But I believe he should have got the death penalty along with his girlfriend.

You believe Maxine Carr should have got the death penalty? My god.

WildMintPanda · 07/03/2026 10:55

I hope the prison staff that have been traumatised by this are being supported. And other inmates that had to witness it.

BatchCookBabe · 07/03/2026 10:56

Part of me would have preferred him to have lived, and stayed in jail so he can keep suffering, but then I thought nah, he doesn't deserve to live when those 2 beautiful little girls Holly and Jessica didn't get to live.

Lemonfrost · 07/03/2026 10:56

igelkott2026 · 07/03/2026 10:51

Yes there are. As I also said on the other thread it is possible to believe two things at the same time. Everything is nuanced.

And one of the main reasons to oppose the death penalty is because of miscarriages of justice. But with Huntley and Couzens, we know they did it. There is no doubt, reasonable or otherwise.

Edited

I totally disagree. It's a slippery slope, dependant on political whim. It's not about evidential doubt. It's about the type of society we want to live in.

This is monstrous. A civilised country does not keep people in shackles and solitary. How do you think that sort of environment would be to work in, or for those who have not comitted crimes of the magnitude of Huntley & the guy who killed him. Some people bloodthirstiness gets in the way of rational thought.

Maxine was charges with perverting the course of justice and assisting an offender? Correct me if im wrong.
I think its possible she was coerced by Huntley.
Anyway she completed her sentence and should really be left alone now

This is the most ridiculous post yet.

You know he raped and murdered a pregnant woman? He knew she was pregnant btw. And murdered a man whose body he hid and then the man's mother when she came looking for him. His crimes were exceptionally violent with hundreds of injuries inflicted on his victims. He has a whole life order as a consequence.

I think she should be left alone now but I wouldn’t rush to make friends with her.

BruceLeTerror · 07/03/2026 10:59

Good.

cramptramp · 07/03/2026 10:59

I’m glad we no longer have to pay for him to live in prison. I’m also glad that the parents don’t have to hear his name in the press any more.

Sheknowsaboutme · 07/03/2026 10:59

Great news!

Should have been hung the day after conviction. Total waste of tax payers money keeping murders and rapists alive.

fucking best news today. Thinking of the parents of those poor girls today

MardyMillylala · 07/03/2026 10:59

Nothing to be celebrated but nothing to be mourned either. The other prisoner that's killed him won't have done it for the sake of serving justice, more like to earn himself notoriety & admiration amongst his fellow prisoners.

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 07/03/2026 10:59

I’m not sad he’s dead but I’m incredibly disturbed by the idea that a three time murderer was able to access a metal pole while in prison.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 07/03/2026 10:35

There's so much wrong with your post, where do I start? We cannot have prisoners killing each other in this way. Something has gone very wrong or, worse, been encouraged in some way.

My post is 100% correct. Why are you upset that murderers are murderering each other?

Huntley is dead, he can never be a threat ever again.

I agree. She gave him a false alibi and there was a history of abuse in the relationship, suggesting coercion. She was vulnerable and he was abusive. To think she should be put to death for her role is extreme. He kidnapped the children. He killed the children. He disposed of their bodies.

Are you really unable to see the bigger picture here?

Yeah. Now we have to pay for the murder case.

No I don't think they are. I've read this thread with my jaw half open.

@MuffinmamWhy the Maxine Carr death penalty?

Indeed, so why are the police and CPS looking at preparing a file (which apparently they are) even if you convicted him it makes no difference - absolutely no public money should be spent on this.

CapacityBrown · 07/03/2026 11:02

Howmanycatsistoomany · 07/03/2026 10:39

This.
Huntley had made several suicide attempts in prison, I think all his killer did was put him out of his misery. I'd have preferred him to live in misery for a very long time.

It is rather sadistic of people that want someone to suffer for a long time. I fully support giving all prisoners the right to assisted suicide. I don't care about their feelings, I care about protecting the public.
