That's according to BBC news. Can't say I'm sorry.

Good riddance.
Thinking of Holly and Jessica's families.

CurlewKate · 07/03/2026 10:08

I find the idea of a prison system so overstretched and underfunded that one prisoner can kill another completely shocking.

shhblackbag · 07/03/2026 10:08

Finally.

Brewtiful · 07/03/2026 10:08

I hope it brings some peace to the poor families of Holly and Jessica. It must have been awful continually seeing their pictures alongside the many articles about him.

rememberingthem · 07/03/2026 10:08

Good, i hope he suffered!

RedRec · 07/03/2026 10:08

Good

riversflows · 07/03/2026 10:09

Good riddance to bad rubbish

susiedaisy1912 · 07/03/2026 10:10

It happens all the time in real life, I don’t see why prisons should be any different. May he rest in piss.

MaggieBsBoat · 07/03/2026 10:11

Huzzah! Malignant wart of a man.

treacledan71 · 07/03/2026 10:11

Good riddance. But he would have suffered more in prison for the next 30 years or so but least he wont be popping up in the news all the time causing more stress to the families. Still a no win situation for the familiies they will always have broken hearts.

dapsnotplimsolls · 07/03/2026 10:12

Oh noes.

damelza · 07/03/2026 10:12

Live by the sword.......

Myfridgeiscool · 07/03/2026 10:12

Hopefully we need never be shown his picture again.
Peace.
I truly feel for Holly and Jessica’s families.

dapsnotplimsolls · 07/03/2026 10:13

I hope his relatives don't sue.

Perhaps it has nothing to do with the prison system being overstretched and underfunded but more to do with staff turning a blind eye with people like Huntley and letting justice take its course.

I 100% agree with this.

We should not have a system in which prisoners are able to harm each other, let alone murder each other.

It is not a cause for celebration that we do.

onelumporthree · 07/03/2026 10:15

I saw a report on the BBC website earlier this morning saying he'd been taken off life support, so I did wonder.

I'm not going to grieve the untimely death of a child killer.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 07/03/2026 10:16

Mixed feelings, obviously not sad he is dead, or the manner in which he died, but it doesn't say a lot for prisons that this can happen - thinking of the safety of staff in particular. But short of keeping someone totally away from other people permanently which has its own issues, I'm not sure what could be done, as a determined person will get to the other eventually.

Agreed. I run a team that regularly sends staff into prisons to run programs. This type of incident is not to be celebrated.

Seriously? So let’s say you go to prison, maybe wrongly convicted. You would be okay with having the crap licked out of you, as it happens in real life?
Presumably you are also okay with having the crap kicked out of you in real life, as it happens in real life?

I agree. It is perfectly possible to not feel any particular sorrow over Huntley's death. I don't. But structurally it is a problem. Prison shouldn't ever be a death sentence. And of course there are miscarriages of justice - how would the cheer squad on this thread feel if Andrew Malkinson had been murdered in prison and subsequently (as he was) found to be innocent?

Well, at least the prisoner killed another prisoner, and not a guard. So it worked out quite nicely this time.
The issue is that next time it might be a guard, and so for that reason alone, it's not great that prisoners can get their hands on weapons so easily.

He was attacked by another man who committed horrifying crimes. Killed a pregnant woman, amongst others. He wasn't some kind of hero doling out justice for victims.
