Anyone else “awake” here?

Maybe not the place to post but thought it might be interesting to find out if there is an awake component to MN.

I’m not here for judgement or criticism, just want to find more of my own.

It depends what awake means. If it’s Russell Brand awake, no. Hopefully for many obvious alleged reasons.

A questioning mindset and curiosity is good but more along the robust investigative journalism lines, whistleblowers…not a TikTok post.

I agree

@charlatanne You're quite right. MN is not the place to post anything alternative to mainstream, as you can tell from the overwhelmingly juvenile replies you've had. Twas ever thus.

I’m not superior. If I thought I was I wouldn’t bother asking questions. My friend’s little girl is amazing and I dislike the way she’s described as ‘disabled’ just because she behaves a certain way. She doesn’t fit into mainstream school but she’s intelligent and has a lot to offer.

Looking into the social model of disability might be interesting and change your perspective on this.

Anyone who questions the government
/vaccines/climate change/trans agenda/digital ID etc has been labelled mental by mainstream media.
I’m not mental, have a good job, am intelligent, have lots of friends, know lots of awake people and have been a MNetter 😆for years.
Conversation has been locked down. Cancel culture. Think about that.
I just want to find like minded people.

Not everything is a conspiracy all the time. There's nuance. Most people acknowledge that drug companies need to make money and that some pervs and misogynists are pretending to be trans. Nobody wants their every move tracked by the government but can see the value in having a clear way to identify people in a time where its easy to move around and fake documents.. When a disaster happens the media don't want to announce the persons skin tone or religion and subsequently start a race riot that has no benefit to anybody.

Maybe I'm in that phase of sleep where I can hear the alarm but it just gets incorporated into my dream and I sleep through it!

Because it’s not always the onus on us to explain why we believe what we believe, it’s to make others question why they believe what they believe.

Why you think others who don’t share your views are not already doing this?

Just because you only started challenging your own thinking in 2020 and changed your views on thing, it doesn’t mean that many many others do not questions things, they can question and research and just come to different conclusion to you.

Lockdowns saw a large amount of people lean more into this type of thing, I often wonder what it is that made so many people, start consuming the exact same type of content all at the same time and caused them to start doubting the same things as each other at the same time. Who benefitted from that? Was there money to be made from so many people joining that mindset. Who gains power and who gains money? It’s all good and well telling people not to watch mainstream media, but where are you choosing to spend your time, who/where are you getting your info from anf who profits from a load of people doing the same as you?

It’s like so many are “I do loads of research me, I’m a critical thinker and question EVERYTHING, but you can’t question me, just do your research and think properly, like me, but don’t question what I believe and don’t ask me to share my research, don’t question that and just trust me, but don’t trust them over there, they are crooks, be like me and think like all these people instead”

It’s always worth bringing it to more mainstream platforms, don’t you think? Even if ridiculed/ignored at the start. It may get people thinking. And I don’t say that in a superior way. I don’t care what people think, they can engage or disengage

So why is autism so prevalent then? Don’t you think it’s worth questioning? I don’t mean high functioning autism, btw. People can be described as autistic and function perfectly welll as they always have.

It's always been prevalent. We just don't lock them away in homes for the disabled anymore, never to be seen.

Agree with you. And no one cannot be questioned.

I consider myself 'awake' as in I question things, research things (and actually know how to research properly), sometimes live outside the mainstream and don't make mainstream decisions because of weighing up evidence. However, I just get on with living my life my way, even if it's a bit different to standard. I have done for over 30 years.

If you mean 'awake' as in 'The Great Awakening', then no, I am not.

ItWasObviouslyGoingToHappenYouPlum · 07/03/2026 02:13

My sil makes me laugh sometimes, she posts daily about how she is a critical thinker and everyone needs to wake up, she regulars says that the bbc are lying corrupt nonces, tells everyone they need to stop using their website, doesn’t pay her tv license and is adamant only sheep still use bbc.

Until her beloved Tommy Robinson farts and suddenly it’s “why are the bbc not reporting this?” I asked her does she know the bbc what the bbc are doing and said because she watches it and then asked if Im thick 😂 I said I was just surprised because she’s extremely vocal that people should never consume bbc content and only sheep watch it, she said “it’s different for me, I am watching to make my own mind up” 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ah! If that's your aim then fair enough - it worked. I just thought you were looking to have the discussion with people who already think along those lines, as you said in another post.

The sheer volume of derailing juvenile posts in threads like this usually drowns out the actual topic or the few who are posting in good faith. It's rarely useful if you're hoping for a real conversation with like-minded people. But if you're fine with that, then that's all that matters.

Love this and same. I think some from the "Great Awakening" do find this road eventually. Many don't but everyone is on their own journey, I guess.

The definition of autism has changed and now it's a very broad umbrella that includes traits that previously didn't fall under the autism defibition.
Back in the day diagnosis basically didn't happen. It just wasn't a thing. Those that have autism are now only recognising on themselves because their being children or grandchild diagnosed. Their autism occured even though they lived before MMR vaccine even existed. Instead they watched friends go deaf after having measles. Or friends dying of aids.
I personally will never be able to erase the image of one child's body twisted up with polio being taken out of her wheel chair and dipped in the sea while the rest of us were running around laughing and chasing each other. And one spoon full of pink removed that horror.
And yes there are f*ck ups and cover ups such as thalidomide causing birth defects.
There are people and companies and governments putting their interests before others. Most people are aware of that - pretty hard not to be given the crazy times we live in - but there isn't a clear line between 'awake' and not and I don't think it serves any of us to communicate in silos and avoid being challenged on our views.

You take issue with the word disabled. Then you post this.

I am autistic and have ADHD. I have a job which is quite involved and I am probably one of those people you describe as ‘high functioning’ (even though that in itself is an Ignorant term) because I am good at masking. I had to - I wasn’t diagnosed til I was 50.

People with autism don’t simply ‘function very well’ - if they did that, they wouldn’t have the condition. We struggle through, trying to manage our conditions as best we can. Sometimes this can lead to meltdowns and self harm. Sometimes worse.

I would respectfully suggest that next time you are looking for the ‘truth’, you take some time out to look into ableism and neurodivergency.

And they realised that women and girls present totally differently from boys, which means they now understand it can be harder to diagnose because of how good we get at masking!

Yes that too!
And medical advances that mean children can survive premature births that can unfortunately also mean an increase in disabilities.

And babies with disability that were once either left to die at birth or hidden away on institutions are now part of the community and perhaps even attending mainstream schools

There’s no way to know if your own research is any more valid than someone else’s. Which is mainly my point.

there literally is.

👏👏

I had a friend who talked like the OP. He main sources of research seemed to be Russel Brand and some bloke who claimed to know better than any scientist because he was a doctor and has done his research. Turned out he was a chiropractor or something.

You mean you actually 'believed' all that stuff they fed you at school about maths and fractions and percentages and all that? 😂😂

I know. All those mathematic proofs that have been created by these evil mathematicians in order to deceive us all. They’ve been up to it for thousands of years and deluded us all but fortunately for humanity incels from Reddit are now here to save us all. 🎉🎉

I, for one, praise our wide awake and not remotely drug-addled supremely wise new leaders. 💩 I just hope none of us fall off the edge of the flat Earth. Perhaps they could at least let is know where the edge is? And how long it will take for all the water in the sea to pour over the edge into space. 😩
